Will this hurt the battery?

At work I usually keep my 3GS on a charger because I use it to listen to Sirius, ipod, and pandora for most of the day. Will keeping it on a charger for 5-6 hours a day hurt the battery? I let the battery drain from around 3pm until 11 or 12 at night when I go to bed.

The battery must have its juices flowing for optimal utilization. So what you are doing is within those parameters.
