Apple is not Nokia. No offense, but what do you think goes on at Apple? You think they don't have people analyze their competition, don't have R&D, and that they just sit stagnant? Clearly they're doing something right if Apple walked into the cellphone industry out of nowhere & completely changed the game in less than 3 years.
I'm not talking about Apple's past, but where they go from here and is a speed bumped iPhone 4 leading the way?

You're quite correct IMO. And if that's all they release they will have lost out on quite a large number of sales judging by the attitudes of a lot of people on here. That's not to say they still won't shift loads.

Note to self: don't be fooled by the nice man doing a staged demo of the assistant looking like it's the best thing since sliced bread. You know it won't work that well and you'll look like a tw*t talking into your phone and texts are rarely that urgent they need to be sent in the car. He'll more than likely say, 'This will change everything', but it won't. You're 4 is plenty good enough, you don't need a 4S.

Wow, you must have some pretty killer inside information if you know the new voice features won't work that well.

Why would it look different from talking on your phone to a person vs. talking to the iPhone's Assistant (in your car, like you mentioned)?

Keep holding your breath waiting for Apple to fail. You'll either die or pass out from oxygen deprivation. During which time you'll be unable to post to this forum, so it's a win/win for us.

No matter what people complain about here, the lines will be absolutely enormous next week when the iPhone 5 is released. The iPhone 4 is still the best selling phone for Verizon and AT&T.

heh, I'll only hold my breath until the keynote today. Then I'll get on with my life. And for the record, I want Apple to succeed. Just not on past glories.

Why not? Even the iPhone 3GS is out selling all the larger-screened, "higher-specced" Android smartphones. The iPhone 4 is still the best available. Regardless of what you stated in the OP, sales numbers DO matter.

If Apple takes the iPhone 4, gives it more speed, more RAM, improved graphics, a better camera, iOS 5, and possibly their new Assistant voice integration, why exactly would you think they wouldn't sell them as fast as they can make them?

Another point to consider: if Apple adds a low-cost iPhone 4 for for $49 subsidized, and continues to offer the 3GS for FREE with contract they stand to grab a lot of the low-end marketshare away from Android.

Bear in mind this is all just my opinion. We'll just have to see what happens. Then everyone can start shouting, "I was right and you were wrong!"

If people who are willing to switch from an iPhone to a bigger screen Android, I'm guessing these people were never the ones Apple wanted as customers to begin with..
Apple wants everyone as a customer.

Is the lining on the inside, or the outside?

He could only see the lining if he had inside information, but he could see the plating wearing thin.

Or the gold leafing the armor. :D

I would argue that almost every keynote is a turning point for Apple. There haven't been too many keynotes in recent history that had little impact on the company or the market in one way or another.

This is their chance to sell consumers on their products/services. I'm sure they don't take it lightly.

OP, recheck your math. The Apple iPhone is the best selling device on the market today. Personally, I don't think this will change anytime soon.
