Will you be buying and installing Leopard on release?

My current plan is to order a brand new MBP on the day Leopard becomes available (hopefully the 26th). Does that mean it will come shipped with Leopard, or will they drop in a disc that I'll have to upgrade with?

Nope, I'll be waiting till Christmas to buy and install it. A couple reasons:
1. I don't have any money at the moment.
2. I usually like to wait on new releases to make sure they aren't funky and such.

I Love Taking The Plunge On Day One

I Took The Plunge with every previous release on day one and it was never a catastrophic problem doing so.

BTW Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize today for his work on the Apple board of directors. :)

I've been umming and ahing over it but I think I'll get it asap. I've bought a new HD for it to go on so I'll always have Tiger on the old HD until I'm satisfied Leopard is all good.

yeah i'll just clone Tiger to an external HD, just in case

ditto that ;)

When I upgraded to Tiger I selected "upgrade" rather than "archieve and install" by mistake and all was fine. As my install of Tiger is not that old and and therefore little detritus on the machine I will probably go down that route again but with a cloned drive ready to go if all goes horribly wrong. ;)

yeah i don't think "upgrade" is that bad. as long as you have a backup, you can always do a clean install later if necessary

I intend to buy it soon after release date if not on that date. I will run it first on my MacBook to see how well it works. A week or two later, I will install it on my iMac 20" Intel. I am looking forward to this little adventure!:D

i'm looking forward to it as well. i wonder if my local apple store will be open at midnight of release day?

iPhone $100 rebate

I thought that's what everyone was using their iPhone $100 rebate for. I know I will.

I've always been an early adopter with Mac OS X releases. I'm not going to change that for Leopard - did it with Panther and Tiger.

I will probably get it on day one. I am pretty excited about the release, but I could last a few days without it, so if something better comes up to do on release day I will push it to the next.

There isnt anything in leapord I really want right away. I just like installing new stuff. Its fun. :) All kinds of new features to explore.

I will buy it and install it the night it comes out. OS X is buggy at all times, so it makes no difference.
