I have the iPad 3 but I love the design of the iPad mini and seeing the rumors of a lighter, thinner iPad, along with a thinner side border = less weight; I'm all for it.

Along with the faster specs, browsing and downloads apps will be much faster with the iPad 5

So yes I will be getting the iPad 5.

Yep for sure, I want an ipad 5 over retina mini anyday as it is for around the house so the screen size is important, however the current iPad is just too heavy to use in bed like holding up a book.

If the Ipad 5 is loads lighter than the Ipad 3 then I will purchase one. I had the ipad 3 and its painful to hold with one hand. Sold it and got a MBA but would like an ipad for entertainment.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm saving up for an iPhone, and that time around both will come out. I already have an iPad, so I will get an iPad Mini 2, and then see whats next. Either then its time for an iPad upgrade, or my first apple computer (MacBook Air).

Hell yeah. I've been waiting for the next iPad to be released ever since I saw how much my brother loved his iPad Mini. I love the design of it. I'm not really a fan of the wide bezels of the current iPad. I ordered an iPad 4 in December, but I decided to cancel it because I figured the next gen would come out this spring. I bought a Nexus 7 back in August, and I totally regret it. So, I've been waiting for the next gen iPad. I doubt I'll be disappointed.

If it performs really differently than other iPads, I will get one, or I just want to stick with my iPad Mini.

If it retains or even increases the current generations batterylife then yes, I'll be getting one.

Ummm I love my ipad 3 i love the design. I dont mind holding onto it for another year or more but the value will go down, i plan on selling it to get the newer one.

I'm not totally regretting the Nexus 7 but it is relegated to a backup to my Ipad now at best.

I do find the Nexus 7 more portable than the Mini though. I can detect the Mini in my shell New Balance jacket more but not really at all with the N7.

I'll be sticking with my iPad Mini for quite some time, at least through another generation or two. Currently saving for an iMac.

Only reason I'd upgrade from my 3 is if the 3 doesn't support the new ios.

I wouldn't expect that ... If the iPad3 wouldn't support a new iOS what would happen to iPad mini ? I think even the iPad 2 will work; first iPad sure not.

The iphone4 did not get facetime over 3G even though a similar feature was already long available via jailbreak.

The ipad mini got siri, which the ipad3 got as well, but not the ipad2 (and the ipad2 is identical to the ipad mini spec-wise).

I can see Apple start to deliberately withhold features from the ipad3 to "incentivise" people to upgrade. They normally commit to supporting the iphone for at least 2 full years of upgrades (since most phone contracts are that long anyways), but since ipads face no such contractual limitations...:p

I'd like to get one yes. But I don't have one of my own now. My wife has an iPad 2 and I use it fairly often. We'll see though, it looks like we're going to be getting some iPads for work for testing in the near future so I may be able to hold off for a while.

I probably will because my iPad 3 has a screen defect that, according to Apple, is my own fault since I do not purchase AppleCare+. The things that will guarantee I will are:

1) Smaller bezel
2) Significantly lighter
3) Newest processor
4) iOS needs to get a nice refresh first too or I will go for Surface.d

I might, but it won't be on launch day - maybe sometime next year.

Truthfully, as long as the iPad 4 gets all of iOS 7 and not some skim milk version, I'm comfortable holding out for the 6.

The 5 will need to be significantly lighter than the 4 for me to buy it. I'm already sold on the mini's form factor. The only way I go back to a bigger screen if the weight is around 0.8 lbs. not sure that's possible with current tech and Apple's choice of materials.
