All iPhones come with AppleCare, the OP is referring to AppleCare+ ($99 for 2 years and $49 per incident of replacement, up to 2).

Yes. I'll be getting it. I'm clumsy as all get out, and it's worth the peace of mind.

Your statement is misleading. The $49 replacement fee is for cosmetic damage you induced or when you have damaged your phone. If the phone fails under normal use in the 2 year time period, there is no charge for a replacement.

Rocko, I'm not going to take the time to revisit a thread that I responded to 4 months ago to see if this has already been addressed. That being said, my intention was to inform, not mislead. Perhaps you ought to be more careful when you read.

I was operating under the assumption that anyone interested and doing research about AC+ would know that manufacturer defects are of course covered in AC+ just as they are in the default AC. The differences being the time frame & the accidental coverage.

If you'd like a more exhaustive comparison, please refer to this thread AppleCare+ vs. VZW Warranty vs. Geek Squad. vs. SquareTrade which I started last July.

Good day.
