Not turning it on. I have no need for it. My phone sits in the car for 8+ hours a day while I’m at work. I have no need for the screen to be on while my phone sits in the pocket of my car door.

Definitely going to disable it. I’ve an Apple Watch S6 if I need to know the time or triage notifications, and I disabled the always on display for that as well. Big fan of watching TV & films on our AV setup in the dark and really don’t need always on phone/watch displays waving around in my peripheral vision, no matter how dimmed.

I’m in the keep it on camp. Not worried about the battery drain, and will find it useful to quick glance for notifications while on the wireless charger at my desk. I usually have music playing and my phone on silent, so will save me the ‘reach over and tap’ action to see if the girlfriend has sent me a message 😆

Surely there's no point in having the phone turned on at all whilst it's inside your car?!

All right the MKBHD video came out on the always on display.

The verdict? Keep it off for maximum battery savings. Battery does take a hit. AOD is surprisingly brighter than we thought. So yeah, imma keep mine off. Lol

I've never liked AOD on any devices. I find it to be very distracting, call me weird I guess, but when I'm working or my phone is laying around, I like it "blending in" with the screen off. If I get a notification, seeing the screen light up is good enough for me. I think the only time I enjoyed a AOD type experience was when I had a brief stint with the Moto X. The "Active display" was really nice. Samsung's OneUI has a nice option to where you can tap the screen and have it show the AOD mode briefly to see if you have any new notifications.

Have no interest in Apple's version. Will immediately disable once I do get a phone that has it.

AOD is what sold me on upgrading... so I plan to keep it on! Currently using a 11ProMax, and haven't had any issues, even considered waiting to upgrade, but when the AOD was official, decided to upgrade.

I’ll try it, then make my decision. With it going off while in the pocket, face down, away from my Apple Watch or with a sleep mode on, I may keep it on… seeing as it’ll be off when I personally won’t need it. Won’t know for sure until I test it though.

I’ll try it for sure. Not sure if I’ll keep it on though, tapping the screen or picking up the phone isn’t exactly a big inconvenience to me lol. But who knows

I’m hoping they tweak it allow a lower brightness, it looks a little bright to me

I have been waiting for this so will definitely use it, one of the reasons I swapped in my 13 pro.
