i thought i'd give safari 1.3 another chance as the same web rendering version as 2.0 was supposed to be in 1.3. but it's still painfully slow, especially when opening multiple tabs at once, which camino does with aplomb. i hope 2.0 is much faster than 1.3 or else it looks like i'll be sticking with camino.

all of you using ff and don't need all the fancy bells and whistles, you should give an optimized version of camino a try. it's FAST. faster than ff and not the CPU hog that ff sometimes is.

apple's website shows safari 2.0 benchmark times vs. ff and explorer, but i think they didn't include camino b/c camino is faster! (just a personal opinion without a shred of proof)...even though ff and camino use the same gecko engine camino is still faster. try it! grab an optimized version, though.

Blimey ... to be honest I was half expecting a "what speed boosts?" kind of response .... so that really is quite promising.

Naw, I'm with edesignusa. ;) It's wicked fast! :D

After having just gotten used to the fact that FF learned how to properly place inserts in a text box, so that the enhanced mode of the forum reply screen here works properly, though, ugh, I *am not* happy that Safari still can't do that. :(

I know safari doesn't have extensions like FF, but there is a decent array of plug-ins at pimpmysafari.com

Enjoy
