Hmmm, hmmmm, yeah... "hmmmm"... honestly, that's all I have to say. I honestly was hoping Apple wouldn't do such a stupidly boring "update" that was rumored. I was hoping the bigger Mini LED and A14X (or A14Z) processor update would occur in June or the Fall. This is not a remotely good update. They simply re-named the processor, (gave no numbers of any speed or efficiency increase,) 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ added a Camera and WiFi 6 (on paper that's good, but in real world use, isn't night and day or much of anything from my testing, so really... that's it.... oh and higher storage tier (but at a higher price, so no real change there too.) *Facefist since facepalm isn't painful enough. uggggh

I guess a RAM increase would have been cool-ish but I survived without the 1TB 6GB model from last year, I HIGHLY doubt developers plan to increase their apps to take advantage of RAM for many, many moons. 🙄😂😂😂

Probably keep. The main difference I can see for my daily use will be the camera system, but I rarely use the iPP cameras over my phones.

I know that’s what I’m thinking. I can afford it. I have more than enough to survive money wise but I just don’t want to spend money unless it’s my house, food and necessities.

Apple never mentions RAM, my guess is 6GB and maybe 8 in the 1TB model... Which is great, however efficient ios is... When you deal with large files you can easily max out 4GB... (except most people don't deal with large, multi-gigabyte files with their ipads...)
Having said that, the problem with future-proofing is not so much RAM, but battery... My 2015 ipad pro is still a beast with its 4GB RAM and A9X... and could take many more updates (and will probably get a couple more), but battery has degraded to little more than 2 hours... So while the rest of the hardware is still good for years to come, battery isn't...

Likely skipping this generation since the 2018 model more than meets my needs of light work, handwriting notes, and content consumption. For me, the iPad is still nowhere near replacing a laptop (and the areas where it is coming close still aren’t as convenient as just using a laptop). The fact that a $330 base iPad is going to get the exact same trackpad support as a $800 iPad Pro is very telling about where the iPad lineup is right now. Combine all that with how much Apple has jacked up the prices on the Pro line over the past few years and the uncertainty of the current virus situation and I’m content to hang onto my 2018 for the foreseeable future. I am intrigued by the magic keyboard, but $300 is crazytown for how infrequently I type on my iPad. I’ll stick with my current Smart Keyboard folio unless this new one really turns out to be worth $300.

I had been thinking about getting the new 11” to add to my existing 12.9” 3rd gen as it would be a bit lighter and less bulky. But I’ve been on the fence about it as I love my 12.9 and as more time goes by, I think I’d take longer to readjust to the smaller screen.
Anyway, I’ve switch from working in the office now to working from home, so I’m no longer taking my iPad to the office and everywhere. The 12.9 screen has been great, especially with my change of work location. I was hoping that the new keyboard would be available for the existing iPad, so I’m pleased that it is. The magic keyboard is $589 here in Australia though. Ouch. But still, I might get that this time and keep my 12.9 3rd gen. I have a gift voucher from work (20 years of service gift) that would make it zero cost, but I’ll need to wait for it to be available at a local retail store and not Apple if I use the voucher. That will give me time to read and watch reviews before I decide.

Oh Yes Absolutely ! Please don’t even tell me about that. When the U.S the 2018 iPad Pro was available for roughly around $1000 for the 256GB Celular version I have purchased it at whopping $1500 🙄

Isn’t the main difference and should the point not be 6GB RAM in the 2020 iPad Pro versus only 4GB RAM in the 2018 iPad Pro ? That’s Big !!
Apple would of known about the ChinaFlu since Nov/Dec19 when it started in China, having a factory there and the big name they are would have had insider info. Hence the minor updates now. No new products just speck bumps to keep things ticking along.

I've long been wanting to upgrade from my 11inch to a 12.9 and 256gb of ram had become a pain sometimes when i let my movie and photo collection grow too much. So for me, a move to a 12.9" 512gb had been something id contemplated even within the 2018 gen, but knew it would be sensible to hold out until the refresh.
I'm disappointed there aren't more upgrades. but as someone who upgrades every gen anyway, I'll get the next one when it comes out, so this one will be nice until then. cant wait until the trackpad keyboard is available.

Tempted but there's no reason to replace my 10.5 IPP. It would just be wasting money right now if I bought one.
A) it’s not confirmed and B) it’s not That big. This iPad is good for 1st or 2nd pros not necessarily worth it from a 3rd gen pro ( or first gen 11)

What confirmation do you want ? Apple never tells or confirms anything on the RAM part !! It’s all there on all the Major tech Sites !! Did you even take some effort to read on the Internet !! Prepare well before rebutting something !!

now I’ve seen the new pro 11 I’m probably going to get a refurb 2018 over the new one, to upgrade my pro 10.5 from a few years ago. saving £250 that way.
Because leaks and rumors = truth all the time then ? Until it’s benchmarked you don’t know.

Do you even know Apple every time before Publicly releasing a product send this unreleased products for review to major tech sites and YoutTube reviewers that is how it has been happening till date. And so the info coming out of these sites especially after the official announcement of the product has to considered True and not a mere rumour !!
