iPod touch Will You Replace Your Current Touch for The New Touch?!

reagarding what I'm replacing. I'm switching from a 40gig ipod video that is about as close to dead as possible. 6 second pause before it reacts to any button press. Screen that only displays black lines (i have to make a custom playlist in the morning and have memorised how to navigate to it through touch and sound only! click wheel is protruding 3mm and it's full of crap. The new touch should be quite the upgrade for me!!
Same here, this 8gb isn't a decent replacement for my 30gb video. Sounds like mine is in better shape than the poster above me tho. I tried to fix mu click wheel (it's sunk in- the rubber bumper keeps slipping) and managed to break the hard drive connector. It still works.... At times. I try to not have to change playlists. I'm trying to decide if I want to try to trade it in for the 10% off, or keep it loaded with the kids audiobooks since it works with my fm transmitter.
Anyway, there is no way I could live with 8gb of space after 30 all these years! Lol!
Yeah, provided a couple of things happen (mainly a boost in capacity so 32Gb becomes the middle model and doesn't cost the earth anymore) then my first gen 16Gb touch is getting replaced. Oddly enough the biggest attraction is the new processor / GPU from the iPhone 3GS -my wife has the second gen Touch and it's so much faster than mine it's silly. Considering the Touch is rapidly becoming my mobile gaming platform of choice the new internals are a major selling point for me. A storage upgrade is also getting kinda important as bigger apps (okay, games) are becoming the norm and I really don't want to sacrifice music or photos for apps.
That said, the old touch isn't getting sold, it still works okay and while the back is scratched to hell the screen's still good so I'll have to think of a cunning use for it.

I have a 16 gb gen 1 touch. If we see reasonable pricing, higher storage, better battery life, a camera, and a way to organize apps better, I'm ALL over a new one.

lookin at the iphone for the past 3 yrs and their competition, high resolution WILL come next iphone (and ipod touch 4g).
(why I think this? verizon has the updated voyager, the enV Touch, has 2 800x480 screens, for only $99 2-yr contract)

I have a 1st gen 32 GB iPod touch. I would love to replace it with a 3rd gen 64 GB iPod touch, if such a thing is going to be released.

creeeaaak.. did you hear the door of the catacombs opening and this thread being resurrected from the before time. everyone else who posted in this forum did so before or on the day of the release. missed the boat eh! anyway i did the same as you, i dont really miss it though. i think they need a higher res screen and its gonna happen in the next revision.
There is no 3G 16GB, only 32GB and 64GB, make sure you don't buy the 3G 8GB, because it's a 2G in disguise!
