I don't usually put my watch on until after I'm dressed so no....I likely won't wear my Apple Watch in the shower....

Unless its after a run or workout. Then I probably will.

Even though I can, I have no interest in doing so. What am I real going to do in there with it? Check in on Facebook? Read an email? Those are the things I escape from in the shower. It's an isolation time. The only thing I could think of is controlling my speakers or my phone, but I just put my shower mix playlist on shuffle and enjoy.

I suspect many will use it for charge time. If you have a long day planned you better not take it off the charger until you walk out the door or get another charger and charge on the road/office.

I will definitely have two chargers. Probably one for home and one for the car.

The battery life will not be an issue to me!

I don't currently wear any jewelry when I shower. I don't see that changing with this watch. Plus, as others have stated, it will be on the charger while I'm showering.

Can I shower with it?

This may have also been talked about in this thread but can I shower with the watch? I read that its water resistant...does that mean I can "splash water on it" but not "submerge it"???

Tim Cook showers with his.

This device does have some limited water resistance. It will be splash-proof, but don't take it swimming.

EDIT: Per Apple's website:
Apple Watch is splash and water resistant but not waterproof. You can, for example, wear and use Apple Watch during exercise, in the rain, and while washing your hands, but submerging Apple Watch is not recommended. Apple Watch has a water resistance rating of IPX7 under IEC standard 60529. The leather bands are not water resistant.

I'm not chancing mine.

The only band that I would think of wearing in the shower is the sport bands. The others would be horrible to wear in the shower. Yet, I'm not entertaining any idea like that.

To my knowledge, the Apple Watch is rated at a water resistant level of IPX7, which means it can "withstand incidental exposure to water of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes."

So it should hold well under the elements and a shower.

Swimming would not be recommended though, since you would have to keep the watch above 1 meter or immerse it less than 30 minutes with that water rating....

Depends on the water pressure. Shower head with moderate to strong water pressure exerts pressure equivalent to swimming.

Who showers wearing a watch?

Take it off. You'll get soap scum all over the watch, especially with the metal bands.

I had an Omega seamaster diver watch and I wouldn't shower with it.

I couldn't agree more. Why would you want to useless you want to track rapid movements of the arm in the shower. ok, let's not go there.. :p

exactly, it's all about the water pressure.

As long as you don't get a leather band, sure shower should be fine. And Apple should cover any issues under warranty, given its water resistant

I've consistently thought this a really bizarre question.

Why would you shower with a watch? You're supposed to be naked, to clean your body. Incredibly this includes your wrists.

What possible reason would anyone have to require a smartwatch in the shower?

I use my pebble to control music in the shower.

Of course it's more of a 'nice to have' rather than a necessity.

I'll be selling my Pebble for an Apple watch, and I will miss being able to do this.

I guess since I tend to shower for 5-8 minutes changing songs doesn't really bother me! I just... shower :p
