Will you upgrade?

If the design stays the same, then probably not. Though we'll see when the time comes. Might not be able to resist.

I'll be disappointed if we waited all this time to get an A5 that's been out for awhile now and an upgraded camera. Seems un-Applesque.

I'm holding out for a "one more thing" to the iPhone.

If the design is the same, no, I will not upgrade. I love how the iPhone 4 looks, but I don't like the iPhone 4 itself. One example, I like my phone naked, but the plastic on the edge hurts my ear when I'm talking on the phone for longer than a minute. Just a little quirk. There are a few others.

If the design changes, I will most likely upgrade, but keep my iPhone 4, for aesthetic value. I really do think it's beautiful. No design change I'll probably spring for a Blackberry Bold 9930. I have two upgrades available, so it's not like I'll have an upgrade available for iPhone 6. And I'll be keeping the iPhone 4 to switch back to whenever I please...

Depending on what we see, I might just end up selling my iPhone 4 and buying a white one factory unlocked.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a redesign, but I do need to upgrade from this nearly unusable 3G.

Apple keeping the current design with just some minor changes would be a turn-off.
While there are those that are still using a 3G or 3 gs that will probably upgrade, Those with an IPHONE4 may not be as compelled.
Unfortunately, 2011 has been the year of big OS updates while the hardware has basically stayed the same except for a faster chip and better graphics. A perfect example would be the IMAC , Mac Book Pro etc.
Hopefully Apple was smart enough to make the upgrade worthwhile for the IPHONE5.

Well I wouldn't freak out over leaked photos's of the cheaper iPhone 4 front screen.

The iPhone 5 will most likely have a larger screen and a alum. chassis, back. The glass gave them problems and they apparently didn't like it as much as they thought they would.

With the competitors having all larger screens, I don't see Apple matching them since they mostly go over board, but a larger screen in the neighborhood of 3.7 to 4.0 inches is most likely. If you have been paying close attention the case designs over the last four years are extremely accurate, as far as the overall form factor of the phone goes. The details are harder to determine from the leaked case designs.

Such as buttons, cutouts etc.

But for the most part are spot on in the form factor dept.

Same goes for the iPad. No way is Apple going to get left behind.

Also, another thing that will keep me from going the iPhone 5 route is availability at launch. If I have to go traipsing around the whole freaking city like I did with my 3GS/iPad2/Touchpad just to find one to buy, I will undoubtedly get bored and get an SII.

? Order one online. Choose the expedited option as soon as it's released. Problem solved. Have it the next day.

I do this with all my iMacs, iPads, iPhones. I don't get waiting in long lines for hours on end. Do people enjoy wasting their time?

i will be extremely disappointed if there is not a complete redesign. a bit more power and a couple mega pixels lazily thrown into the same ol' iphone 4 will not be enough for me to purchase it, especially when i have an iphone 4 that isnt even a year old. i could make money selling it and upgrading to the next iphone but it just isnt worth it, for me anyhow.

I think the 14-15 month wait is the reason. I don't see why Apple would delay for so long for a mere spec bump.

There are many reasons.
- Apple knows they will sell whatever they build.
- They've got people trained to upgrade.
- The Apple faithful say it's not about specs.
- They love the tiny display.
- Its the cool phone to be seen with.

And that's just for starters :)

APPLE may be in for a big surprise if the IPHONE5 is not something to talk about. Seems like alot of people will not upgrade just for the sake of upgrading.
But lets be optimistic that Apple will not let us down.

I think I will try something new - like the windows nokia phones that are in the works. And maybe I'll get the new iPod Touch to keep the apps I already have.

I have decided that if it has the same design as my current iPhone 4 I will use the money towards a better holiday next year. Dont really need the 8MP bump, or the processor speed bump to be honest. IOS5 runs perfect on my iPhone 4.

However if its a redesign, with the above features and maybe a few nice touches like a notification light behind the glass for example I will find it hard not to go for it.

Depends a lot on iOS 5 compatibility with iPhone 4. If there's several features i actually want that are iPhone 5 exclusive, i might be tempted to get my mum to buy an iPhone 5, sos he can have my iPhone 4. Being an only child has benefits.

I really hope for a design change, my iPhone 4 has slowed down a lot and isn't running like it used to so I would like to upgrade.

Struggling through with a 3G, so yeah, I'll upgrade to pretty much anything they release at this point.

One of the deciding factors for me will be the screen size. If it's not at least a 4 inch display, I will probably move on to something else. And that mechanical home button sux, get rid of it.
