I'll use it in the car, and to set my alarm when I'm laying in bed. Possibly for other things, depends on how quick and reliable it is.

Definitely. The reminders to do something when I leave somewhere will be extremely useful to me.

I could have used it at least three times today (I was keeping track)

- A coworker and I were debating about a football question. To find the answer I had to open my web browser, open google, do a search, find a site and read through it to find the answer. With Siri, I should be able to just ask my phone the question and then get the answer. Time saver.

- I saw a preview for a tv show that I want to see. I'm pretty forgetful so I'll probably miss it when it actually comes on, but at that moment I could have easily just told my phone, "Remind to watch 'this show' on Oct 27th at 8pm," and it would've set a reminder. Awesome.

- My wife and I were just deciding if and where we wanted to go out to eat. We thought of a place we could agree on (wish Siri could help with that!) but we didn't know how late they are open... it would've been sweet to ask my phone, "what is 'this restaurant's' hours?" and get the answer.

Next Friday can't come soon enough...

Hell yes. No more texting while driving. :D

I tried the current voice control today in my car - PLAY EMINEM, PLAY MICHAEL JACKSON, PLAY ANYTHING GODAMMIT

Eventually it said "dialling 22 764327189"

I'm hoping Siri is better with British accents

If anyone in here says they will use Siri, but haven't already had the app on their iPhone, then they are lying to themselves.

Yeah, OK, whatever you say.

I want the ability to make calendar events, send texts, set reminders, etc...

I will use it, just not for the weather. That's one tap away.

I haven't read anything that makes it seem like it's capable of doing the first and third things you mentioned. It can do SIMILAR things, but nothing to that degree...for instance...

1. I would imagine it'd give you websites with answers to your question, not the actual answer itself.

3. I just don't think it'll have that intricate of capabilities. I just don't see how that's possible. I'm sure it knows where the restaurant is, what type of restaurant it is, but I doubt it's going to know the hours. Again, it might direct you to the restaurants website or something, but I havent' read anything that made it seem like it could handle that kind of thing.

Maybe you can prove me wrong, and in which case I'll be very impressed with it.

You may be right, I just tried the football question with the Siri app and it didn't find the answer, but did bring up web search results and the answer was right there in the first result, so it still saves a little time.

I then asked the Siri app about business hours to the restaurant and it said 'Sorry, I don't have info about opening times yet'... That could mean it's a feature that will be implemented in the future.

I imagine that Apple/Siri will be fielding tons of feedback and suggestions and hopefully by the time it's out of 'beta' it'll include some of this stuff. Either way, I'll be pushing it to it's limits to see what's possible come Friday.
