I'm hoping they split the difference and just release a 5" phone. It would be the best compromise. If they go 4.7 - 5.5 I'll go with 5.5, but not if it's a year later. Not sure what I'll do if they delay the larger model. 4.7 is still too small.

That would be perfect for me.

Probably going to go with a 4.7 when the time comes, but my ip5 is still working just fine and I just got a mini retina so probably not looking to get a 5.5 phone.

4.7" is too small for me, definitely waiting for the 5.5" model even if that means waiting a whole year more.

Even if the 5.5" isn't mentioned when releasing the the 4.7" it won't be far away. The demand is there, even at a premium. I'll continue to hold on to the 4S until it happens.

I've thought about this a lot. Initially I was planning on 4.7, but only after comparing it, in hand, against 5.5. But after waiting and waiting and waiting now I've come around to realizing, at least for me, my 5s is pretty perfect for my needs. Maybe I won't upgrade at all now. If it had double or triple the battery life I'd likely give apple all my money, but really a larger screen just isn't that important to me any more.

I will get the 4.7 iPhone since I already have a iPad mini with the Unlimited data plan for a bigger screen on the go when I need it.

I'm hesitant about even 4.7" (I could still use it one-handed.... mostly) and I KNOW the 5.5" would bother me (2 hands needed frequently).

At the same time, bigger is also better, in other ways. As an iPad Mini fan who opted for the big iPad, a "phablet" phone might scratch that itch.

I have to try it. After 2–3 years, when it's time to think about another phone, I'll either love it or be anxious to go 1-handed again.

Small is better. Big is better. In different ways. The choice would be nice. The only way to know my choice will be to try it for a serious amount of time. I won't hate it. I may dislike it--but I'll console myself with the obvious benefits of a bigger screen, and enjoy the new CPU, TouchID, iOS 8 etc. etc.

And I'm willing to wait past September (probably not past February though).

P.S. If you have a full-size, iPad, here's a life-size mockup you can view of a 5.5" iPhablet:

I don't know. I'm used to the Note 3, but I've just got the S5 and I'm enjoying the smaller size, because at times the note can be a bit unwieldy. I suppose if Apple are able to make the form factor smaller than even the LG G3 I'd consider the 5.5 inch. If the 5.5 has the better specs I. E sapphire glass and 128 GB of memory it might sway me.

I've got another upgrade due in September/October so I'm either get the iPhone 6 or note 4.

It really depends on how the software plays out

Do I really simply want a bigger version of what I have now? I think a lot of this size stuff is really dependent on how the software works in comparison to the size. I am not that excited about a phone that runs iOS the same way that my ipad does (in current state).

Truth be told, if a bigger iPhone was released right now with iOS 7, I wouldn't want it. Especially if they charge more. One thing that Samsung does that people knock them for is put software in place to take advantage of the bigger screen in the Note versions. The S5 doesn't have some of the "bigger screen" features.

95% of what I do on the phone revolves around reading or looking at pictures. Therefore, I am definitely waiting for the 5.5". Whatever negligible "burden" the 5.5 carries over the 4.7 will disappear in a week of use.

"All things come to he who waits."

Make sure to tell that to nice guys who are stuck in the friend-zone with a hot girl they like and think they might have a chance as long as they wait and keep being there for her ;)
