Here's the pic as promised. Damn Finder (running 10.4.3)
Except there's plenty of areas you could grab on that particular window to move it below the Menu bar, so... what's the issue? Heck, not even the entirety of the Title bar is obscured! The OP was complaining that the entirety of the title bar was obscured on a window, which is the only area you can grab to move a standard Aqua (non-unified) window.

As for the person complaining about using the keyboard to move windows... sorry, but this is the GUI age. If you want to do everything with the keyboard, use Terminal all the time. Or DOS. I hear that one's REALLY keyboard-friendly. Yes, lots of things can be done in the GUI with the keyboard, and that's good, but honestly, management of windows is a task best done with the mouse.

Samething happened to me in Photoshop CS1 with the settings pallete, and no amount of [tab] and [f] combinations, as well as resetting the default workspace, would fix it.

I had to quit what I was doing, quit the app, and start PS again. Not the worst that could happen, but I thought it strange.

Perhaps PS CS1 is one of those "poorly written" apps :p

I was just posting it because it's annoying, not because I'm trapped and can't move the window. Anyways you can move a finder window with any part of the window so movement isn't an issue. IT'S JUST SLOPPY, and from Finder, not even a third part app:eek:

GeekBind'll do it

Because I don't mind adding to ancient posts if I have something to add:

The freeware "GeekBind" lets you assign keyboard commands to move windows around in OS X. So there you have it.

Zoom

Changing screen resolution did it.
Thanks a lot!

People, stop talking about Mac Vs PC we could go on about that for a decade!

Another good way to solve this problem is too go to the toolbar, click 'Window' and then select 'Zoom'. This is the scenic route round pressing the green button, which resizes your window.

Unfortunately I have still have a window stuck behind the toolbar. The program thats stuck is an app called 'Songbird' which does not have a 'Window' pulldown.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

Then enjoy your viruses, spyware, trojans, blue screens, and stripped down Vista that will be out in 2006 or 07 or 08.

Actually, you do a similar thing in MacOS as well, as I had the same issue using another app.

I had this same issue with BricsCAD (MacOS native version), and I found the answer on another thread (forget where exactly) . . .

The solution is this: put the cursor on the BOTTOM edge of the window as if you were going to resize it vertically only (i.e., not in one of the corners). Then, instead of resizing it up and down vertically, move the mouse left and right (horizontally), and the entire window will now move until you can uncover the top portion as before.

After installing a program, the main window was placed in such a way that it's close, minimize and resize buttons are BEHIND the Apple bar at the top of the screen. Hopefully you can see what I mean from the attachment (Mailwasher is the program with the stuck window)

I've tried dragging from anywhere I could, and using Expose and clicking on the window, both with no luck. I also tried reinstalling the program with no change in its position (!). So I don't know what to do!

Anyone have any answers for this?
I searched the forum but did not find any.

Thanks,
Craig
