Bumping this because I'm struggling to dual boot Windows 10 and dosdude Mojave.

Pasted from another thread:

Anyone Dual Booting the Mojave patcher and UEFI Windows 10 via OpenCore? (2011 iMac)

Hi all

I'm having trouble getting Windows 10 to install on my 2011 iMac. I think that the best option would be to install the UEFI version of it using OpenCore (because using the MBR (?) version on specifically the 2011 iMacs, audio issues ensue). When I go to install it, it tells me that:

"Windows Could Not Prepare the Computer to Boot Into the Next Phase of Installation"

I'm thinking this might be because I'm trying to mix regular booting (Mojave) and OpenCore (Windows 10) but I can't be sure.

Windows 10 will run on literally anything. I'm gonna post what I always post when I see these kinds of threads...
Bootcamp is completely unnecessary, intel macs are just PCs with apple logos. Windows 10 will install and figure out all the drivers on it's own. Worst case scenario a multitouch trackpad might need bootcamp for "full features" to work. This isn't Windows 98 where we need to rely on manufacturers for drivers. Half the time the PC's manufacturer site has an older version than windows does. And that is absolutly true for bootcamp. If I install windows on a mac I just get drivers from intel, nvidia or AMD, ect.
Hello, I just found this post and I wanted to ask you how this is possible. I have an old MacBook Aluminum late 2008, 2,4 GHz Intel Core2Duo with 8GB of RAM, currently running Catalina with DOSdude patcher. I have been trying to clean install W10 on it with no success. Any advice is welcome...

A 2008 with Catalina? Are you sure its a 2008? Those don't have acceleration in anything higher than Mountain Lion last I checked.

Anyway, put the DVD in it and start up while holding down C. If you're using USB, it won't work. You have to use a DVD, because CSM on those Macs won't boot from USB. You can't UEFI install Windows either, as the EFI on these era Macs isn't up to spec. Although you could try OpenCore and that might work. DVD is gonna be the easiest way.

Yes it is a Late 2008 MacBook Aluminum, running Catalina. Sadly the DVD drive on this thing is not working leaving USB as my only option... I tried OpenCore in the past and installed BigSur on it but it was quite heavy so I switched to Catalina.

Try using this application, maybe you will succeed. The only thing you will need to do is temporarily install the Mac OS system on an external drive and run the program in this system. This is due to the fact that when installing Windows on an internal drive, the drive must be disconnected, and if it is a system drive, this will be impossible. And you will need to download the drivers in advance, since they will have to be installed manually.
In the program, select the option "Install Windows legacy boot"
