I have an early '08 MBP and I just installed Windows 7 x64 using Boot Camp. Everything works great except from the fact that I feel the laptop to be much warmer than it was when I had Vista installed. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

Yeah i find my MB runs a bit hotter in Windows 7 under bootcamp........

I wouldn't say warmer but it does feel just as warm as it did in Vista (and even XP for that matter).

Have you partitioned the drive using Boot Camp? You need to do this first.

I am currently running Windows 7 on a 1.83Ghz Mac Mini with 1gb RAM.
Everything is working as excepted... well almost everything.

Norton Internet Security 2009 doesn't seem to work so I'm using PC Tools and Avast.

Various 3D modelling, music making and image editing programs work ok too but haven't used them as extensively as I normally would.

Safari looks amazing. Copying files and installing programs appears to be a lot faster.

Connecting a ethernet cable brings up the BSD for some reason yet connecting to my WPA WiFi router is OK. I had to change the routers settings to Channel 11 from 13 for it to connect.

Not sure if I can recommed it entirely. I'm only doing this because I do most my work on a Vista laptop and since I had a Mac mini running XP which I hardly used I saw an opportunity... I'm glad I did anyway.

If he doesn't know how to do this then he shouldn't be installed a beta OS (much less any OS).

Yes, I have definitely partitioned the drive. I have previously installed vista using boot camp, and that process worked fine. I'm not sure why it's not working this time though. Am I just supposed to burn that .iso file to the disk or am I supposed to burn the files found inside the opened disk image?

The ISO file is a disc image. You can burn a bootable disc using it. Open it in Toast or DiskUtility and burn it. Don't just make a new disc and put that file on it. Then, all you have is a disc with that file on it which is useless :)

Yes I finally realized this shortly after my last post. I now have Windows 7 successfully installed. Thanks for the help everyone. Sorry i'm retarded.

i am trying to install windows7 x64 on 2.4 alum macbook with downloaded bootcamp 2.0 and 2.1 update drivers.

so far, got everything but i can't seem to get any sound from the system, and no right-click on for contextual menus (mouse works fine on external logitech v450 mouse). also i am missing drivers for isight camera and coprocessor.

has anyone gotten windows7 x64 to work with bootcamp drivers?

conshok26, i am also installing build 7057, were you able to get audio and multitouch pad working on x64 7057 and bootcamp 2.0/2.1 vista x64 drivers??

I have heard a lot of good things about 1057, but apparently build 7061 is now the newest.

Out of curiosity, are you guys getting these new builds from torrents? If not, I am assuming that MS hasn't posted the newer builds on Technet/MSDN yet. Or have they?

Windows 7 requires NTFS. It is possible to install on FAT32 but you need to mess with the install quite a bit.

Well, last night I installed Windows 7 (not the beta, but the actual final version which i got through MSDNAA) 64-bit and everything works fine. Although I have only installed Valve's Steam application for the Steam games and AVG, and Safari.

Way quicker than Vista (according to my flat mate who has a laptop with Vista on it).

I might actually upgrade my iMac's XP partition :p

Quick tip which you can choose to follow (or not!):
Add/Remove Programs -> Remove AVG
Install Microsoft Security Essentials.

More efficient, less annoyance, better UI.
