IIRC large blocks of OEM keys were "revoked" due to abuse/ keygen activity. This may be why some keys work and others don't...

Also IIRC the number you can call for activation can issue you a new product key if necessary.

Have you called MS to activate it, assuming it really is a legit windows copy?

i can't have them activate it because im running into issues on the actual os install, not on the activation once booted into windows.

it is legit. i called them earlier to double check that it was the proper code for the xp disk i have.

Is it an upgrade disk? If it is an upgrade disk (Windows XP Upgrade) and not a full version, if there is no OS on the drive it will claim the key is invalid because it requires one.

Can you post a picture of the disc in question? It might help others figure out what is going on.

Also have you considered making a copy of the disc and installing from that? Sometimes SuperDrives can be picky.

OEM Windows XP

Hi!

I have one question.
I have a Mac with a windows XP partition. I need to format the windows partition that is an OEM version.
Am I going to have trouble with the serial number?
Because I know that OEM it's only for one computer.
Thank.
