On the other hand-all settings you gave me works perfectly now.
Earc started to work. But it was a bit of a fiddle around with settings. I think in HDMI3 the Speakers needs to be set as HDMI sound system or TV speakers and earc to automatic.
One of those cases when it just works and you don’t touch it.
Thank you for all your help
Update:
Disabled earc in ATV as it messed and unpaired Homepods yesterday.:S
Everything else works, no lag, ambilight works.
Honestly, I don't want to tap preinstalled TV apps and do double log in. As you said still waiting for Disney to roll their sleeves and give us the update.
Earc is enabled in HDMI 2 as default. Tested couple of Dolby Vision+Atmos videos to see the quality and the Atmos sound. So sorry to hear that!. Well, in all fairness the feature (earc9 is still labeled as beta.
So you are now using the Homepods only for the apple tv apps with earc off, correct?
Sound like a great set up.Well, my current setup is an LG OLED C8 (2018) with an Apple TV 4K (2017), and two original homepods paired in stereo.
My TV support arc (not earc), but since my Apple TV is from 2017 i cant use the ARC feature with the Homepods. That does not matter to me because I only use the Apple TV to watch content.
I have never used the internal apps of my TV (in fact i have it disconnected from the internet and manually update its firmware via USB), only the apple tv apps.
The Homepods set as the default audio output of the Apple TV 4K work great. No lag, Atmos support (except in Disney+), good sound.
Sound like a great set up.
Have you seen my comment about Dolby Vision bug? :S
Android :SYeah. I have no idea. Certainly it sound like an Android TV bug.
