I bought this one, my experience with the wireless charger, the % does not increase when using Waze or any map app, the battery % does not go down, but it does not increase either. let us know if you have a different experience.

I will for sure. I understand the slowness of Qi wireless charging. I suspect a net zero gain while using Map navigation. I will still have my USB lightening car interface available to me if I need to charge this way. Even though my car (infinity) has an interface, I find myself using BT over it as it’s easier to just select music on my phone.

I wouldn’t think it would go up when using heavy apps like them.

I’m looking forward to this. Coming tomorrow. I pretty much have the same iotti setup today, so I should just need to pop the head off and pop the new one on. Thought I would share. Finally a wireless charging solution for the car that doesn’t require a magnetic case.

Yuck. This is a gross looking charger case. I always laugh when an Uber driver uses these crimp style holders and the phone falls out then the put it in and squeeze and it presses the side buttons.

I have been using the exact same model/design without the charging and it has never dropped my phone. And it's not a "charger case". Thanks for your valuable "gross looking" input though, very articulate, lol.

Very happy. It supports fast wireless charging. I’m running 11.2 beta which supports it. I will follow up after using it for a bit to let you know how fast it charges. All of my home wireless chargers do not support 7.5v fast charging (just 5v), so I should be able to tell the difference.

Just wanted to follow up on some performance stats. I was at 85% when leaving work. I launched Maps for the ride home. During the 30 minute ride home, the battery increased to 95%. My conclusion is that this "fast" charger is capable of increasing battery levels while using battery intense apps.

Good to hear. I got my iottie today and am excited to have wireless charging in the truck. Mount is very well built and the extension makes it even better.

I picked up the iottie Easy One Touch 4 yesterday. I like it so far. Very solid car charger. Will test in the next few days how the charging is working.

Yea, I have been using them for years. Very well built and they do stick for a while and when they eventually come off, just run under water as directed and your good for another year. I tried cheaper ones and you definitely get what you pay for.

I’m not expert, but I am running 11.2 beta and I do feel like it’s fast charging at 7.5v. I think it’s interesting how the documentation makes it clear to use the inckuded charger and cable. I did use the lighter plug it came with over the USB port in my car.

I tried the USB in my car and it doesn't seem to work. I have been using the lighter plug also and it works every time. Still wondering why the USB in my car does not work.

Just ordered this one for my other car:
Wireless Charger Car Mount, iDudu Fast Wireless Charging Air Vent Car Mount Phone Holder for Samsung Galaxy S8 S8 Plus S7 S7 Edge S6 Edge plus Note 5, Standard Charger for iPhone X / 8 / 8 Plus https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074NR2G9M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rNHhAbM8TPMNZ

I chose this one because I’m pretty sure the head will fit on my existing dock and that is also comes with the lighter charger. Also because fast charge capable, similar insertion and removal mechanism and it’s $20 less than the iottie

A lot of the USB ports in cars may only be setup for 1A of power. (@5V, this equates to 5W of output).

Some may actually be as low as 750mA - really depends on the age of the car and how cheap your car manufacturer elected to be.

You can get some of the lighter dual-usb adapters that support 2.4A per USB port (equates to 12W of output).

Many Qi chargers require 2A of input (10W @ 5V).

I’ve read a decent amount of complaints of the iottie marking up the dash. Anyone run into this yet?

I ended up cancelling the link above. Reviews said it had trouble charging through a case. Read many reviews of many different car dock chargers, none compare to the iOtti. I'll splurge for my second one at some point. It's worth $50 over the $30 for all the other ones.

No issues here. Be sure to use the dash pad it comes with and you will be fine.

I have Honda Odyssey 2018, i bought this wireless charger, with Waze open, I still haven't seen my battery % going up, it keeps the same %, but does not go up, am using the USB charger that came in the box, any suggestion?

thanks

I hope they make a new version with the onetouch4 design (broad button) and guaranteed on-the-box 7.5W charging.
Just because it’s newer, not saying there’s anything wrong with the current one that mimics the onetouch3 design.

Are you referring to the iOtti charger or the Amazon link I posted a few up? If iOtti, I have had a great exerience so far. As mentioned, when using MAPS (not sure if Waze is more intensive) and streaming music, I see a 10% gain in 30 minutes of driving. Some things to consider are - 1) Are you using a case and if so is it really thick? This could slow charging. I use a case, but it's extremely thin. 2) The instructions that come with the iOtti show where the transmitter is on the unit and also where the receiver is on the Apple phones (starts right below the Apple logo at 12 o'clock). The better the positioning and line up the better the charge.

Not sure what you mean by onetouch4, but mine pops in and the side holder close around it. To remove, I clasp the spring loaded levers to open up the side bars.

Sorry my memory added +1 to each model number.
I meant onetouch2 and onetouch3.
Onetouch2 has a pea-sized back button. The Qi model also has this style.
Onetouch3 has a slightly (arguably? subjectively?) more intriguing design with a large press pad with the iOttie brand engraved in place of the pea button. See here for pics:

https://www.iottie.com/Product/Deta...ne-Touch-3-Car-Mount-for-iPhone-_-Smartphones

Also it’s compatible with bigger encased phones and has ergonomic knobs.
Imagine that but with Qi coils inside and official 7.5W apple-flavor fast Qi support.

Yes, that is the one I had before I got the wireless charging version. Almost identical, functionality.

Just looked at the USB Car Charger for the iottie Easy One Touch 4 and it says: Output 5v 1.0A

Do you think if I replace it with a 2.4A it would make a difference? Faster Charging?

Hmmm, it says that on the lighter plug I assume? I didn't notice. I would just test it out and see if you are happy with the charging with the supplied charger. The documentation was pretty adamant about using it and not others. As I said, it is charging pretty good for me out of the box as is.
