Just wondering if Apple sells or will be selling an aftermarket plug and play wireless CarPlay kit ?

My Audi Q5 Mod 2020 does not have wireless, just hate having to connect lighting to the iPhone.

All connections should be wireless at no additional cost... it’s a more environment friendly solution that having multiple cables all along.

Interesting thought. There's a thread discussing options and devices to convert wired to wireless for CarPlay... and there are apparently some (a few or a lot, depending on your situation) of issues with these aftermarket devices.

However, with all of the talk/rumors about Apple going port-less on iPhone in the relatively near future, they have to do something to avoid pissing off thousands of users with cars having wired connections for CarPlay.

Also, there are some really strange setups in some vehicles... my wife's 2019 Ford Edge has a wireless charging pad, but it's located in a place and position where it cannot be used with a phone cord plugged into it (for CarPlay), so personally, I would welcome such a wireless CarPlay kit... and yeah, having to plug the phone in every time IS freaking annoying, to boot.

I’m surprised your Q5 doesn’t have it. My 2020 Q3 does.

No, they don't! This is probably against their marketings? And I doubt they will ever introduce that! I personally use aftermarket one which works well with my GLC200. Also works with my friend's Ford Kuga with SYNC 3.0 and Volvo XC60. Never tried it on Audi or VWs but I guess you can ask them (google search Play2Air or ViseeO)...
