It was meant to be a smorgasbord of sarcasm. I'm basically making the same obsurd comments as are being made about wireless charging by a few people in this thread (not you). People are making it seem like wireless is a complete waste, when in actuality it isn't. You can get an hour's use with just 5 minutes of charging for instance. And no one has claimed you HAVE to use wireless charging... It is simply nice to have the option, rather than not. ;)
And my sarcastic comment wasn't directed at you in any way. I've read enough of your comments to know you have a commen sense approach to things.

I hear you, Im just saying its cool but once they improve it then it could become better and more useful.
We'll have to see how it plays out:)

It's a gimmick. There are no benefits besides "ease of just setting down" your phone.

1) wireless charging is slower than cable (don't be fooled by quick charge, which makes any charge quicker)
2) it locks your phone to a few-inch wife location essentially making it useless, as opposed to cable 1.5 feet or larger area to use your phone while charging
3) can't transfer data across while charging
4) larger accessories required for travel

Get one or two of these to change, and it may be worth something. If 2 changes alone, it'd be revolutionary.

I transfer data all the time without my iPhone being plugged in. I won't debate the merits of wireless charging with you but transferring data isn't an issue. Wireless transfers have been around for years.

I guess I don't mind wireless charging as long as it is as fast as plug in, has no health or other signal interference issues as long as it doesn't give Apple an excuse to have no ports on a phone so they can claim lighter and smaller. I do hate the thought of buying a bunch of wireless chargers for home, office, car, etc. I also think if that is the ONLY method of charging it will be very inconvenient for years as airports, airplanes, other businesses and homes now have USB ports to plug your phone in to charge it.
I guess I don't trust Apple anymore to do what people need vs. what Apple thinks is cool and brave.

Hands up who would rather have longer battery life than wireless charging...and hands up who would rather have an AUX/headphone jack than wireless charging...
