With 5C you'll get less than last year.

Actually as I stated before yesterday's event, the 5C is a very smart move on Apples part. It will be much less expensive to build from plastic, than what it costs Apple to build the iPhone 5 in metal & glass. Selling at $99 the gross profit is much higher, thus Apple's discontinued the 5 to insure they don't get caught out. Personally I have no problem with plastic. Never have. Every prior post I've made regarding the C has been very positive. I like that phone.

I think the colors will be successful and plastic does not mean inferior either. Apple used plastic in their laptops for years. I think the 5S is a better buy because you get a more advanced phone but I think there's a market for the 5C

Plastic does mean inferior -otherwise Apple would not have made all their premium devices aluminium and glass. There is a reason why they got rid of the plastic macbooks and imacs and mac pros.

It doesnt mean that plastic necessarily equals crap quality. But the iPhone 5 is simply superior to the 5S when it comes to materials and craftmenship.

There you go. Its a smart move for Apple. But the customer loses.

They had to discontinue the 5 because it would have been a superior product at the same price compared to the 5C. No one says the C is a crap device. Its just a lesser product for the same price.

I know people still using an iPhone 3G (not a 3GS) and so I think most consumers don't care about A7 processors vs A6 or what have you.

Yep my wife and 3 kids will be getting the C I will stick with the flagship. hopefully it will be $49 down on tmobile .
