The extra 3 months many of us got is up at the end of this month. Are people renewing or cancelling? You have to cancel before the end of the month and access goes away when you cancel - not end of month.
I'm cancelling - there are some things I've enjoyed but not enough to spend money on - especially compared to other streaming services.

I’m in. I signed up for the AppleOne Premier plan. I’ve been enjoying the content and know there will be more coming.

Cancelling... mainly because I don't remain subbed to a service I am not actively watching content on. My shows aren't due to be aired for at least 6 months from now at best, so until then, I'll be getting my streaming fix elsewhere.

Fear not, CBS All Access and Disney+ also are no longer being subbed to for the same reasons.

It's a merry-go-round with my streaming subscriptions... I hop from one to the next as the content I want to watch is fully binge ready. If I wanted to wait each week to watch another episode, I would have stayed with cable.

Update - Apple is extending free until July - because they haven't been able to produce the new episodes planned due to COVID-19
So now we have another few months to make a decision

Really? Mine will expire soon it says.

As the content is extremely limited, I will go back to Netflix after my Apple TV+ expires. Not worth paying for this.

Maybe I will take Apple TV+ for 1 month after they finished season 2 of a few shows that I liked watching.

After I finished the Long Way Around series (which was awesome), there's been nothing else of interest. I'm on the one year trial and there's no way I'm going to be paying money for that.

Make sure the renewal date changes in your subscriptions to ensure that your trial has been extended. If that date doesn't change, it has not been extended. May take a week for the changes to be applied... at least that is how the last extension occurred. Email directly to you first, then applied about a week later. Don't go off of announcements on a rumors site.

Anyone able to confirm the extension? Mine is set to expire April 2, 2021 still, even though I purchased iPhone 12 in last November.

Until you see the email from Apple, it's not happening yet. Mac Rumors is usually ahead of the the actual rollout. So wait for email. Then wait another week or two for it to change the date in your subscriptions. If that date doesn't change, the billing starts on that date. Apple is not responsible for errors and omissions resulting from a promotional flyer.

My phone still indicates Feb 1 - if not updated/get an email from Apple then I will be cancelling next week before I get billed for another month

I plan to buy Apple One once my free trial expire late Feb but seeing I might get another extension I’ll wait to see if I do.

Anyone gotten their expiration dates extended till July yet? Or gotten and email from Apple telling them about an extension

What email? I haven't received any email and my subscription seems to have been extended from February to July.
Or am I reading this incorrectly?

Heh, you are correct, my date has been extended as well. Last time they sent an email first. I guess they beat the email this time.

Make a reminder to cancel before that date should you wish to not resubscribe. That's the only issue with the extension... forgetting when the extension expires. Hehe... maybe that's why they didn't send an email...

This is like the 3rd time they are extending TV+ trials. Pretty much an acknowledgement from Apple that they know their TV+ content is lacking and getting desperate to hang on to subscribers

Well they have the least amount of paying subscribers out of all the streaming services so they need to do what they can to keep people watching.

Seems like the reasoning has had more to do with lack of new content (which Apple expected to have earlier) due to the pandemic.

I cancelled my Apple TV a few days before it was set to renew and then Apple extends the free trial. lol Good thing is I have another free year because I bought the iPhone mini on my second Apple ID. I have to log out of my main purchase account on Apple TV and log in with the second Apple ID, unless I chose to watch on my M1, which uses the second ID.

If I didn't have the free year, (again) I would not subscribe. There isn't enough there at the moment for me to want to spend $50 a year.

No I won't, it's still a pain in the *ss to watch ATV+ in my Oled TV. Still no native app, no chromecast support. I'm fed up with this situation only happening with this service. And no, I won't buy another external device just to watch these shows while other platforms offer a native app. Connecting my mac to the TV every single time I want to watch ATV+ is annoying.
