I doubt “international tensions” have anything to do with a launch. Apple’s website doesn’t even acknowledge the situation.

If the devices are ready to go, they’ll make an announcement, it’s as simple as that.

This is not about whether or not they're going to launch those devices, it's about how they are going to launch them. And possibly a big live event is not it with the current war going on.

The thing we thought might happen IS DELAYED BECAUSE OF SOMETHING ELSE WE THINK MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED

Was something event-worthy really in the cards? I expect an event for an Apple Silicon Mac Pro, VR headset, or a new iPad Pro. Everything else, though -- SE 2, iPad Air, Mac Mini -- could be a press release.

This all hinged on M2 being released this spring, which no credible sources have predicted so far. If the new Mac devices are powered by M1 Pro and the iPhone SE and iPad by A15, there shouldn’t be an event.

Who expected a big, live event in the first place? This was always going to be a pre-recorded video at best. Press release most likely.

Gurman doesn't have a good track record any more.
or, what’s more likely, Apple change the event within the last several days due to recent world events, and Mark wasn’t informed.
It could literally be just that simple
We’re talking about an online event, they can send out invites whenever they want and have the event whenever they want, they don’t have to worry about people actually showing up to the campus.
It’s most likely that it’s been delayed a week or two just to let things hopefully calm down

They probably finished filming today. Give them a second to edit it all together with final cut pro.

Maybe they want to time it with next software releases to show off universal control and make it available same day? ?‍♂️

no idea what's gonna happen
event is coming later or no event at all
just press releases next week maybe?

It would be tone deaf of Apple to host an upbeat event while there's a war raging in Ukraine escalating every day. I kind of doubt there will be an event while there is still war going on.

My guess now: April 5, 2022, with virtual invitations going out March 29, 2022. I think Apple now wants to make sure there are enough supplies of the new models before introduction.

This war could go on for a month or a year. War in the middle east in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria has gone on for years. I'm pretty sure Apple does not plan product announcements around wars.

well here's an incredibly wild thought!....How about in the SPRING? the spring begins on 21st March, and ends on 20th June so all these people complaining invites have not gone out yet for the '' spring '' event... ITS NOT SPRING ! use your heads not your sheep-like eyes to listen to all the YouTubers who fill your heads with nothing but lies.

Gurman doesn't have a good track record any more. Perhaps he had some reliable sources within Apple in years past, but clearly he has been wrong more often than not the past two years. Apple has shut down many of the leaks. I think it makes more sense to have the Event in April like they did last year, but with Apple you never know... However, reliable sources seem to be a thing of the past.
That is not correct. https://appletrack.com/mark-gurman/

True. On the other hand, an online “event” is really nothing more than a video press release. Apple can do whatever it chooses to do.

If rumors are true, Apple is basically adding the A15 chip and 5G to a 2017 iPhone (based on the 2014 design) and a 2018 iPad, and the new M2 chip to a 2016 MacBook Pro. A press release is enough.
