C'mon share your feelings! What do yall think?
Is software enough to satisfy you without any sexy new hardware this year?

99% of the time new hardware is announced I do not purchase it. Yet, nearly the opposite for new software. No new hardware doesn't bother me in the least.

hopefully it won't be. in fact i'm actually more excited about the software updates since i'm not planning on getting an iPhone 5. Hopefully we'll see (lots) more features of lion. as long as there is more to it than there is now i'm good.

The software part is exciting because IOS has been long overdue to get some fixing up done. Plus with the announcement of IOS 5 being done by Steve Jobs and all the rumours flying around, it'll be big. Personally I still have time left in my contract, so I'm going to be getting the iPhone 5 regardless of when it's released because I'm planning on making my next phone an iPhone. So why not get the latest and greatest? btw, I have an HTC HD2 currently (because I know there are some people who care).

Considering the beta for iOS hasn't come out yet, we might not actually be able to use it for a while. By the time we get our hands on it, there may be an iPhone 5.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: No because software makes a huge part of the experience and the hardware is damn amazing as it is right now.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

I've been looking forward to a serious upgrade to iOS for a couple of years now - so software is enough for me.

Exactly. Honestly, I barely care about the next iPhone. I want iOS 5 to be a huge change. If it's not, I'll be disappointed. If it is, I'll be the happiest man on earth.

I no longer view the hardware as amazing. It's nicely refined but dated. Momentum is on Androids side.

Apple let that happen and it was a huge mistake.

Of course it's going to be exciting, there's Twitter integration WAHOOO!!!

/endsarcasm

Tomorrow is going to suck. I have 2 finals back to back, 4 hour work shift.

BUT, there is Twitter integration!!!!

I don't think i said enough about how excited I am about Twitter integration being one of the headline improvements of the long-awaited iOS 5.

Usually, the poor look forward to software updates, while the rich look forward to both software and hardware updates.

Just saying. :D

I'm rich and couldn't give a ***** about hardware updates...

I don't think Apple would jump from iOS 4.3.3 to iOS 5.0 without wowing its shareholders. :p Hardware is overrated, imho. How different is a new iPhone really going to be?

Huge mistake? Funny because the phones are still flying off shelves.

I'm content with software. It's gonna bring updates to my Mac, iPhone, and iPad. I'm happy. Although, a new iPhone would be pretty exciting to see, I know for sure that I'll be skipping the next gen. So for me personally, it doesn't matter that much. Unless Apple completely redesigns the phone from the ground up.

I personally look forward to hardware updates much more so no iPhone 5 will be somewhat of a letdown. The real letdown will probably be that iOS 5 won't have every feature that people have been hoping for and talking about for so long.

The problem with the hardware development for Android phones is that a month or two after you buy a phone, out come one with better specs. A lot of people would prefer to buy something knowing it will be supported for at least a year. Having said that, it would be nice if Apple picked up the pace a little

How the hell is the hardware amazing as it is?
