Sounds to me like you've not set up the port forwarding correctly...

If you get the login page of your router without the port number on the end, then you need to specify the IP of your iMac in the port forwarding config on the router.

I opened up ports 5010 and 5012 (both TCP UDP) and told my router to forward those to the IP of my MacBook, which has a different IP to my router.

ok so its working with 5010 now, but 5012 is not working so i cant stream them :( i have it set up but it shows open instead of play:O

OMG im a dumbarse as my firend just pointed out, instead of clicking on file name i was clicking open lol, it works awesomely now

I got in fine the first time on the Touch, but now I can't get the icons to respond any longer. I tried stopping and restarting the server, but the https:// link doesn't prompt for authentication, just displays the main screen, but the icons won't respond to clicks. Any ideas?

I gave up on trying to forward my ports with the utility so I downloaded the lighthouse app. Set up ports 5010 and 5012 for forwarding. When I go to the Start Profile to enable the forwarding everything is greyed out. In other words, I can't click on the Itouch profile I setup to start the forwarding. I had the trial version so I proceeded to purchase the registration key thinking that was it but no dice.

Update - just got this from lighthouse tech support

Just got this email from lighthouse support

If the profile menu is greyed out, it means that your router is
currently not ready to accept port forwarding requests. Usually, this
is the case during the router association process. If this state
keeps lingering, there are only 2 possibilities: 1) your router might
not be supported. If this is the case, the Lighthouse icon will turn
red after a while (Lighthouse retries to associate with your router
multiple times, waiting different amounts of time for a reply for the
router. That's why it takes a while until an error can be reported).
If the icon never turns red, then 2) your router might have gotten
stuck. Sometimes, the service Lighthouse is using simply stalls on
the router because of a bug in the firmware. In these cases, usually
just rebooting the router fixes the issue.

I hope this helps!

You have to ENABLE the movie/music ability in the iPhone Remote application preferences from your Mac by selecting "Share Media Insecurely". Make sure the server ports and media ports use different numbers. I use 9090 for my Server port and 9998 for my media port. To forward these ports using Airport Admin Utility, just open Airport Admin Utility and select Port Mapping and map those ports to same local IP address as your Mac. Once you do that, you can go to www.ipchicken.com and get your outside IP address and you use THAT to get in... such as https://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9090/ (I'm obviously not going to give you my IP address... hehe) I hope this helps.

Airport Utility wants you to choose a "Service" from a drop down?? And which field do you put the 2 ports in?

ok so this program rocks. it worked great last night (locally i assume) but all of a sudden i cant connect to the app thru my iphone safari. when i test this thru iphone remote (view webpage) it works fine on my macbook pro. iphone safari gets stuck at "Loading..."
