Im shocked that there's still Woolworths, i thought they went out of business.
Those stores were spun off from the US Woolworth in the '80s. The original company is still around too, now known as Foot Locker.

Perhaps, she's from Mars and was really missing home.

She'll take all the wrappers out into a field and spell out "Mars" so that they can see it from orbit.

maybe she is pregnant and had a craving.

Pregnant women do have a craving for certain foods. Her age would indicate if that is possible. I would call that the mother of all cravings. Even if she plans to eat them over the next nine months, that would still be almost 38 per day.

I'm just hoping that the lady will reveal the real reason. :)

If i was that rich - i'd be buying 10,000 Green and Blacks, not Mars! I think she may be sick

I would have bought 10,000 Green and Blacks too if I had money! Hey, my maybe I ask my bf to bring me all the G & B he finds at Woolworths in London and bring me them ... hoping he won't be caught in customs or something ...

I don't think that this is right.

Firstly, she bought 10,656 mars bars, which were in 220 boxes. That makes 48.02272727272727 mars bars per packet. Of course, she might have bought the loose bars which were on the shelf too. But still, it doesn't work out. If there are 48 bars per box, this means 220 boxes contain 10,560 bars. So there were 94 bars on the shelf and scattered elsewhere around the store???

Secondly, she paid £2,131. This means that she bought each mars bar for 19.99812312312312 pence. This is very cheap for mars bars, no? Cue: Brit to chime in here.

Perhaps there was some promotion on, and she wanted to guarantee her spoiled little son/daughter would win. A bit like that rich father played by Roy Kinear in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

Okay. Now that I've said "Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory" I'm going to stop.

http://www.britishcornershop.co.uk/system/index.html states that in UK the box of Mars bars contains 48 bars. Some are loose always in the store - Woolworth sells to normal clients so ..

The box price in that site is 19,95 £.

Maybe Woolworths had some special offer? It does not show on their offers site though.
