I'm jealous! I drive about 60 miles per day (round trip) to and from work, and I'm filling my little Corrolla 5-6 times per month.

Lucky B*stard. I drive about 90 miles EACH way. Times 10 trips per week is 900 miles (give or take a few). I fill my tank up every two days, but at least I'm driving an '04 Passat with a 1.8T. It has a 14 gallon tank and I can get about 31.5 mpg average with my commute. It still takes about 2 hours, so I get a lot of time to think, and listen to my iPod.

Holy cow!

If you went over 30mph that monstrous "wing" would either fly off and kill somebody or flip that Integra on its back!

I noticed a curious fact about my Nissan Altima this summer - I did a 240 mile round trip, averaging 65-70mph one way and about 80mph :)o ) coming home. But my gas mileage for each leg was equal at about 34mpg.

27) Spinning plastic dubs:

I went shopping today for a new pair of basketball shoes. One pair the guy shoed me had (I kid you not) SPINNERS on the side of the shoe. They were designed so when you ran, pressure on the insole would cause it to SPIN. I asked the guy if they would make me run faster, but he said no. :(
Seriously, the reason why I didn't get them is because the spinners on the shoes looked better than the rims on my car :p

Here's a link so you can see what they look like.

What's up, Australians, Western and Northern Europeans, and New Zealanders! Gas is cheap in the U.S.! I drive around an 8 cylinder Mustang that gets 11 miles a gallon on the street! And only (really) holds 2 people.

Cheers!
Uh, most places in the world other than the US, and not those you just mentioned, have much higher gas prices.

Sometimes I wish the US would be the same. It would sure change the landscape for vehicle gas mileage!

My friend and I drove from the Poconos in PA to Washington DC in my friend's 95 Neon on Thursday... I got there and back in 1 full tank of gas. Howabout that for gas mileage! It's about 460 miles there and back... a tank is what 12 gallons? So that's about 38 mpg...not bad.

My dad gave me a big V8 Oldsmobile when I was 16 too. But that was a while ago, when gas was half the current cost. If I really nursed the gas I could get almost 20 miles to the gallon. But usually the gas petal was all the way down or all the way up. But at $1 a gallon, it wasn't that big of a deal.

each state is different with their driving laws... For instance in PA you have to be 16 to get a 6 month permit which you must drive with somebody over 21 at all times. 16 1/2 is the earliest you can get your real "junior" licence. (11PM curfew, no more passengers than seatbelts, althoguth I never quite understood that one...)

In other states, they make you have a permit for a year, but you can liek get it at 15 or something like that.

love honda cars. Own a Civic (wife's) and an Accord, both have been good to me. They've had their fair share of problems, but the dealerships have been good about fixing them in a timely matter and with no fuss.

Might be looking to trade my wife's Civic (03') because she doesn't find the drivers seat too comfortable for long drives. Would be a good chance to get her into a hybrid too :)

Anyone own/had the chance to drive the new civics?

in Montana you can get your permit and license when you're 15 :) (it's where I'm originally from).

And in South Dakota you can get your permit at age 14. Scary huh?

Other states too. I got my learners permit at 14. Could drive car/small truck (ie. pickup) type vehicles to school and back with passengers without an adult.

My farm permit was cooler. Could drive many huge vehicles at 14 such as tractors, combines, farm trucks (tandem dual type), etc.
