Not sure about Sprint at this point, but as I recall it's as simple as just popping in a Verizon SIM when it comes to Verizon these days.
If you already have a working Verizon Nano-SIM card, sure. If you want to activate new service, not always (even though they're required by FCC to allow compatible devices on their network).

The only real "benefit" of having the CDMA-capable model is that you can use it with Verizon or Sprint.

But, if you plan on doing neither, then what's the point? Almost no country outside the US uses CDMA nowadays. I don't understand people's obsession with the CDMA-capable iPhone 7 when they have no intent on ever switching to Verizon or Sprint.

For international travel, you'll never notice a difference between any of the iPhone 7 models, unless it's locked.

You may not plan on using it with Verizon or Sprint, but if you're someone who sells/trades-in your old phone there may be higher resale value for a iPhone that is supported on Verizon, Sprint, various MVNO's.

With locked phones, you can at least hope to unlock them! The GSM iPhone 7s can NEVER be unlocked to run on CDMA. NEVER not in a million years!

"Unlocked" GSM iPhone 7 / 7+ are WORSE than locked. They are iPhone 7 MINUS.

That conclusion is laughable.

Resale value might lower on the AT&T and TMobile models a little, once word gets around. Other than that, wait for the sim-free.

Of course, there's the slightly higher resale value of $30-40 (based on previous releases and what they're going for on eBay). So what you're telling me is that the masses who will never switch to a CDMA carrier want the CDMA model desperately and are willing to pull all kinds of strings to get it solely because it may yield a resale value that's $40 higher?
