Tough decision, isn't it? I have a fenix 6 Pro Sapphire sitting in the drawer, and the decision as to which to wear, and for how long is one of lifes (more odd) dilemma's, 🙂

Tossed all my Garmin equipment (Forerunner 945 and Edge) and am really happy with my AW and my Wahoo Elemnt Roam. Do not miss the Garmin ecosystem for one minute.

If you do reinstall the app then make sure it is only the watch app that you reinstall. It may also be worth updating watchOS to the latest version released yesterday in case that helps. Not because I think it will fix any specific bug but because updating watchOS can sometimes fix strange errors that rebooting doesn’t solve.

I did update the following morning and it seemed to have solved the issue, but I don't have enough data to say for sure. Only used it three times since until yesterday, then the watch "bricked" while unpairing and moving it to another iPhone, so now I have to send it in. It's going to be another week before I can use WoD again 🙁. Anyways, though I would reply and just let you know that the update did seem to make a difference, and possibly solved the problem.

Glad that the update fixed the delay but sorry to hear about the watch not surviving being transferred to another phone. I thought watchOS had got past those sort of issues, but I guess not.

If I remember correctly, WOD used to auto-pause while ski was selected when you were going uphill ( on lifts)
But this no longer happens. Am I missing something or was this changed?

WOD has never had auto-pause for skiing but it will hopefully be in the next version. I tested it myself a few weeks ago (along with ski run detection) and plan to release a beta before the current season is over.

It probably won't be released to the App Store until the southern hemisphere season starts, but that should mean that it has been used a lot before the northern hemisphere season starts again later this year.

No, but you can see that information in Apple's Activity app for workouts created with the app. I may add it to the WOD analytics at some time in the future but don't have any plans to do that in the short term. Sorry about that.

Did someone reported any problems with elevation data? On every activity with AW only I have the same behavior. On start it’s good, then it’s rising, even when it should go down and it’s not responsive. My floor counting is working fine, so my barometer is probably fine.

Screens from WOD and HealthFit (I was surprised it takes elevation from map, not from health). Route from A to B, restarted AW and back from B to A. iPhone disconnected.

I should add that on bike rides with iPhone connected my altitude is great and sensitive.

I have never heard of a gradually rising elevation on a route that goes up and down in real life. The usual elevation issue is a sudden change very early in the workout when users start a workout inside a car or building and the sudden change in air-pressure causes a perceived jump in the elevation.

What do you mean when you say that it is not responsive?

If the problem only happens when the iPhone is not connected then it sounds an issue with the watch. Do you have a case on it that may be affecting the sensor?

The app doesn't do anything different depending on whether the iPhone is connected or not - it just asks watchOS to supply barometer data and that does the rest. Apple do not say whether it uses the iPhone's barometer if the iPhone is connected, like it does with GPS. So if it is working when the iPhone is connected and acting strange when it isn't then it does sound like something to do with watchOS or the watch.

It may be worth uninstalling the watch app (not the iPhone app); rebooting both the watch and the iPhone; and then reinstalling the watch app. Rebooting the watch did not help so this is the next thing that I usually suggest for strange errors.

Re-pairing the watch is usually a last resort but very occasionally watchOS does seem to need it.

Glad it's working now. That was a very odd problem!

Not at the moment but it is high on my list of features to add. At the moment the app can show the route and tell you when you deviate from it, but it does not contain distance information for points along the route, so cannot tell you the distance remaining.

However I plan to add that information in the future, probably at the same time as I also add turn-by-turn directions.

Having said that it would be pretty easy to add a reasonable estimate of remaining distance rather than an exact value, so I am tempted to include that in the meantime.

You cannot set an alert for a maximum heart rate in terms of zones, but you can set an alert for a maximum in terms of bpm. To do this press the watch screen hard and tap "Settings" and then "Alerts". Choose the activity type and then tap "Max Heartrate". This allows you to set a rate and configure which alert types you require: haptic, screen and voice.

In terms of heart rate zones you can also set up an alert when you change from one zone to another. To do this go to the same Alerts screen and tap "HR Zone Change". This allows you to be informed on integer changes (e.g. when going from zone 3 to zone 4), or other intervals, such as half zones or even smaller.

Again you can define which alert types occur, and for the screen and voice alerts you can also define what other metrics you wish to be displayed and/or spoken. So for example you could set up an alert for every half zone change (e.g. zone 3.0 to 3.5) and make that alert also tell you your current heart rate and your average heart rate. If you want then you could even make it tell you something unrelated like the time to sunset!

Hello! Hope someone can help. Ive been used WOD for all my runs, totally love the app. However I messed up today on my 15 miler! Instead of pausing the workout when I bumped into someone I knew, I accidentally stopped it! So I started a new run from that point and thought I'd sort it when I finished.

However I've gone back on to the app and the workout is not there. Only the second part of my run. But it has transferred to the activities app as per the picture attached, so must be somewhere?

All my ride my absolute altitude was 75 m. But the graph was going up and down very accurately. I’ve stopped and ended my activity. On summary screen (time 17:21) there was no gain and loss but the graph was spot on. It’s very similar to that one from Strava.

After taping “done” I’ve checked that ride in activity history. Elevation graph is flat (time 17:23). Same thing in the iP app.

Bluetooth was off on my iPhone so everything is from my AW. Barometer is fine, because it works in the native app, and it counts stairs almost perfectly.

That sounds like a bug, but not one that I have ever heard of before. Please could you send the "wkt" file for the workout to info@workoutdoors.net and I will take a look. To do this tap the Export button on the iPhone app 3 times quickly. This file contains all the information so may help me to diagnose the problem.

Yes checked history on my watch and on the app and just part 2 of my run shows, not the first 6.4 ish.
