Is that you in the fore....er, I mean background?

Re the 'Biggest Dog' would it have killed them to take at least one shot of the thing that wasn't from an angle that exaggerated it's size.

I know! They're all awful awful pictures.

Hmm, judging by the pictures it looks like the owner of the World's Tallest Dog is also owner of the World's Crappiest Car... :D

I mean, geez lady, get something a little roomier for your hobby eh?

That is a very nice looking dog. He would certainly dwarf me. Someone that is above me in in height makes me nervous.

I've had three Irish Wolfhounds, and I would almost swear that the second one (now deceased, on my birthday, no less) was about 7 feet tall standing. I'm 6'1, and it was significantly taller than me. i'll hunt down a photo, I think any photos of him on his two hind legs predated my digital camera, so I'll have to grab a scanner, too. and, when I was in ireland a few years ago, I went to one of the breeders of irish wolfhounds, and they had one that was a little larger than the one I had. The one I have now, though, is a female, and shes only a year and half or so old, and shes about as tall as me standing up, maybe an inch of two shorter. irish wolfhounds: most gentle dogs ever.

Neither of the two of the dogs we've had have been very big... on the other hand, they were both competely bat(dog?)**** insane. I'm not sure if there's some connection there.

this is shortly after we got the puppy. i think shes about 2 months old in this. I'm on the left, and I'm just over 6 feet tall. those shorts are a bit hiked up on me, his back was just level with my waist.

Big Dog Story

At lunch today I popped to the bank and outside as I went in there was a women with a large dog, which looked like a cross between a labrador and a doberman. It looked like a young dog but was still pretty big and as she crossed the road it just lay down in the middle of the road and refused to move. The stubborn son of a bitch just lay there and refused to move, as I went in she was having to lift it's rear end a shift it then lift the front end to 'walk' it across the road.

I came out again about ten mins. later and she'd made it to the side of the road out of the traffic and was on the phone, to I'm guessing her husband, saying "..well I can't bloody lift him and he won't walk. You'll have to come and get him.."

She was well pissed when I took a photo with my cellphone
:D

he'd eat my grandmas shih-tzu, shes 4 and very small. have trouble with my dog though, shes a stubborn one. she wouldn't want to get eaten i dont think.

Dogs shouldn't be smelly. If they are fed the right diet, they actually smell 'normal'. My dog has a pleasant smell. Her natural odor is actually quite pleasant and comforting, especially when I am cuddling with her in bed.

Different breeds have different smells.

Rottweilers (I'm SURE that spelling's wrong!) smell like wet dogs when they're dry. They STINK.

I had a half-husky that actually smelled NICE...

Of course, I had two cockers where one smelled good and the other smelled like ear wax... :p

cats are ok

but dogs Rule! :-D

I have owned both in my life and I like cats, as long as they are outdoor cats.
Litterboxes are right up there with open sewers as far as hygiene and smell goes. Plus, it seems indoor cats are always a little bit crazy. I mean, if you need to declaw your cat because it is going crazy and shredding the furniture, or having to deal with "marking" (basically the cat spraying pee/musk over everything) maybe its not supposed to be in the situation it is in.

On the other hand, after a couple of weeks of training, any dog will go outside to do its business, and dogs actually are glad to see you when you come home, regardless if its feeding time or not.

Currently I have a 3 year old, 115lb, female Bernese Mountain Dog, named Scout. Attached is a pic from last winter, she loves snow!

Its tiny, but I don't have the pictures on this POS work computer.
