While I agree re regulation, is there really a need for a port? And that, EU, is why you don't do stupid things like mandating what charging ports devices use.

Not really actually. This one already supports 80w wireless charging. While I agree re regulation, is there really a need for a port?
That’s my thinking, a phone like this would make my iPad obsolete for me.Wrong way to think about it. You don’t fold a phone. You unfold a phone to a tablet. Have not touched my iPad in months since getting my Fold. I wouldn’t want to go back to „just“ a phone ever again.
Eat that, iPhone! 🤑Technically they could have just removed the charging port all together since it already supports 80! watt wireless charging.
The only time I plug in my 13PM is when doing a backup to my Mac, and I suppose I could do that wirelessly (and no, no thank you iCloud)Not really actually. This one already supports 80w wireless charging.

Give me a flip phone the thickness of a current iPhone and we’re talking.
Same, but at some point I’m going to have to jump ship anyway. It looks nice but the android aspect kills it for me.
Never once have people said they want phones without physical buttons on the front... Never once have people said they want bigger phones... People don't know what they want until you give it to them.
I'd rather see some companies continue to push the envelope in phone design, instead of sitting and giving us the same design for the past 6 years and calling it "groundbreaking", while continuing jacking up the price.
Reminds me of what Henry Ford is said to have remarked: "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses".Once again a solution without a problem.... never once have I said I wish my phone could fold.
I want one that has the form factor of a flip but WAY bigger. Folded it’s as tall as a 16 pro max but almost square. Then unfolded, it’s got a gigantic 10” screen. I don’t like the square unfolded ratio of the galaxy fold.Give me a flip phone the thickness of a current iPhone and we’re talking.
What I want is a smaller footprint in my pocket, but the capabilities of a phone. Others want a regular size phone with capabilities of a tablet. Still others don’t care for either.
All I know is that I love gadgets.
lol why would you need to jump shipSame, but at some point I’m going to have to jump ship anyway.
You do, but it’s a minuscule tablet with a weird aspect ratio. When you can unfold it twice to make it twice the size of your phone in both dimensions, maybe I’ll think about it.Wrong way to think about it. You don’t fold a phone. You unfold a phone to a tablet.
Because I want that form factor more than I need to stay with iOS. If Apple won’t do it, I’ll move onto someone who will.lol why would you need to jump ship
It also needs to get rid of the awful physical bezel surrounding the screen like a $5 picture frame.Honestly it looks great just get rid of the crease, make the screen durable and you have my money. This is literally the dream, a phone that folds out to an iPad mini size. That is the goal. Marques is 100% right on this. This is the end game for foldables.
Find N5 has a 5,600 mh battery so significantly more battery capacity than a 16PM on paper. Finally a foldable phone worth considering. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure the battery life is terrible.
Also, now that the port size is the limiting factor, I hope this shows everyone that it was a terrible decision that EU forced all manufacturers to use USB-C ports.
As me and many people explained over and over, if you enforce a charging port standard on all consumer electronics makers, that will eventually stop the need for distinguishing their products from competition, and will kill the innovation. After all, why try to design a better product if you're not allowed to implement it?
In this specific case, being able to use a Lightning port would allow Apple to make an even thinner phone, and being able to design a new cable, would allow any manufacturer to make even thinner phones. Whether or not we need thinner phones, we are not going to have them because of EU.
