I always go black. The reason has nothing to do with gender I just prefer the look. I had a black iPod nano (my first apple product) when trendy colours were all the rage. I just buy what I want, and don't give a stuff about what people think of my decisions.

Now I am married, middle aged and probably a little more secure than I was when I was a teenager. Of course we didn't have to worry about phone colour back then!

I think it is more concerning that people post threads that they are worried their new iPhone looks like the last gen and people may not realise they have the latest and greatest.

Lets be honest 90% of us stick it in a case which says a lot more about our personality choices (plain black leather in case you were wondering)

Now I need to go pee.....

I choose the color based on my preference, i.e., I like one over the other. Plus many people cover their phones up with cases so a color (to me) seems even less important. Just my $.02

Yes. I'm worried about the size of my phone's display. Er...you are referring to screen size right? I find 4" too small for web browsing.

Oh...well then, my boy ain't worried about his size then. Last October, my boy was at a friend's birthday party (his friend, not mine) and the clown asked what color balloon he wanted for his balloon animal. "Pink," he said "Pink? That's a girl's color," the clown teased.

My 5 year old looked him straight in the eyes and said, "There is no girl's color or boy's color. I want pink because mommy told me it's the color for Breast Cancer awareness." Way to earn daddy lots of brownie points, although the Missus deserves all the credit.

Great post, excellent story, and wonderful response on the part of your youngster. Very well done, both of you, he is clearly a credit to you. Well done, too, in raising him to have confidence in his choices and the confidence to be informed and to act on those informed choices.

I think white is a neutral color. by contrast, the iphone 5C in pink, yellow, green and blue would be girly, :D:D:D

New iPhone colors bring threads such as "does color X make me look girly?"

For those who care so much about how others perceive you based on the color of your phone: Do you care as much (and seek advise) on other aesthetics? Clothes, shoes, coordinating colors, hair style, sunglasses, jewelry, car color, etc.?

I'm curious if it's something just about phone or falls in line with something larger about you.

I think about that stuff for everything. For a phone, it's a more long term decision. I change my shirt every day, so I can wear a fun color one day that I might not want to wear every day. A phone, a car, glasses, even a haircut...those things are more substantial.

Edit: I don't mean that I think "does it look girly" about everything, just that I do think about my appearance.
