Trying the keyboard on my 6 was enough for me. I seldom read reviews. I know the X keyboard will not be good for me so best to refuse the shipment and let it get in someone else's hands sooner.

For me, I want to try it and make sure I know it will either work for my needs, or not. We are paying a premium for these devices and individual usability is important. While your attitude is noble that others may get a phone sooner by refusing delivery, your needs also important. Everyone had their shot in the pre-order. You may regret sending the phone back without at least giving it a try.

I spent a few hours with my old iPhone 6 and I realized how important a keyboard, that I can use well, is. I have no problem with the size of my 8+ and only really wanted the OLED screen. I hope I will have that next year with my larger keyboard.

I just got my Apple leather case today. It feels tiny in my hand. I'm sure it will take adjusting. I'm a fairly large guy with big hands and the 7 Plus felt very natural to me. I have to say it did make me a little leery about the size of the X.

Yep, got my temporary Spigen case today and that is what freaked me out.

I never understood the purpose behind threads such as this one.... The answer is pretty straight-forward:
  • If you love the X, great.. enjoy it before it's time to upgrade to whatever Apple produces next.
  • If you DO NOT love\like the X, then return it and keep your plus model.
If there are a HIGH number of consumers opting for bullet 2, I'm sure it will get someone's attention at Apple...

Why "worry" about keyboard size?? Seriously, there's more to life than the next greatest phone. Maybe try some DMT or something, idk!

I am concerned slightly. I picked up an iPhone 5S and realized how painfully tiny the keyboard is for me coming from two years with a plus model. The iPhone X keyboard won't this small, but closer to the 4.7" iPhone keyboard -in which case I'll adapt just fine to, since I did fine with the iPhone 6.

I guess I don’t follow why the keyboard would be appreciably smaller than that in the Plus models. The screen is slightly narrower, but not as narrow as a non-Plus. So for portrait mode typing, sure I’ll concede that there’s less space. But who’s to say they haven’t slightly altered the size of the keys, or the spacing between keys to compensate?

Then in landscape mode, it’ll be larger than on a Plus, since the screen is longer.

Or am I missing something obvious?

A little, just cause I know I have huge hands, so the Plus models were such a godsend for me. I’m sure I’ll adjust, I was (basically) fine on the previous models. I’m definitely looking forward to an X Plus, though. 😛

I do kind of wonder if a lot of plus users -- the ones that were 100% OK with the footprint -- are going to be disappointed overall with the X. Coming from a regular 7 the X is clearly an upgrade for me. But some aspects like having a less wide screen are a serious negative if you now have something narrower to contend with. Certainly I think it will be frustrating for the first few days until one's muscle memory resets.

I'm already contemplating getting frustrated with my iPad Pro because it won't unlock when I look at it and then thinking... oh. Right. Happened to me when Touch ID first came out and I kept trying to unlock my iPad Air 2 with my thumb.

I was briefly surprised at how small it felt in hand compared to my 7+; however, if you hold it up to your "+" phone, it really only loses some of the side-bezel in comparison. I also placed it around my regular 6S while it had a leather case on already and it fits over it, so I know it's not going to be as small as the regular phone.

I'm actually looking forward to something in between the regular series and the Plus-series. For me the top and bottom bezels made the phone a little too large for comfort and ease of use with one hand.

Me too. That is why I singled out the users that are 100% OK with the plus footprint. I love the plus screen size but can't deal with the footprint size. The 4.7 is feeling smallish to me so looking forward to the X.

That was what I was thinking to but the keyboard is a deal breaker for me. There is no way I could go back to a regular size keyboard so it looks like I will be waiting till next year and hope they are all OLED.

I think next year iPhone XI will be total deferent the iPhone X is a prototype ?
