I think the problem here is the leaping to the assumption this is related to Menopause.
I would like to point out here that the hormonal disequilibrium I was referring to was primarily that of two teenage boys. The possibility of menopause being a contributory factor was distinctly secondary. The additional stress it can produce is however worth being aware of. The everyday stress of having hormonal teenagers around is almost too obvious to elaborate upon...except to hormonal teenagers, I suppose.
 
My poor mother had to put up with a husband and three teenage sons in the house for years. How she reached her 60s I'll never know, but let's just say that occasional angry rants (as they appeared to us) were just part of life, and mostly justified if you thought about what she was putting up with prior to them occurring.

Help out a bit more, let her know you appreciate and love her, and don't judge.
