That's true but this time I didn't even ask for it, I was surprised to get a call from the apple care where the representative asked me if I wanted to change the screen and bottom case of the computer, I even told him that people at times end up with defective screens but he told me all these parts are shipped form Singapore so nothing would definitely go wrong but again at the same time considering my last experience I'm scared giving my computer to them. I know the scratch isn't visible and the noise is annoying but I know everytime I'll look at my computer I'll look at it as if it's defective it's probably just my OCD getting to me. I know some other person would just use it normally. Apple called me themselves and asked if I wanted to get the screen replaced so that got me thinking. Have any of youll gone through screen replacements and what do you suggest?

If you look at this, Apple is reaching out to you to get your screen fix ... Apple prides itself of good customer service and they are showing it by contacting you out of the blue - if this were HP, Dell or any other computer company, you'll be lucky if someone reaches out to you. Go ahead and let them change the screen...

Sorry but if you spend a lot of money on something you expect it to be right. It's fine to have some OCD about it.

True, it is a lot of money, but it's like getting a new car and obsessing over a chip in the windshield after 2 months of driving it. Is it a bother? Probably. Does it affect the way that the car drives? No. Now, if the Apple repair center scratched the screen, then need to be on the hook for fixing it.

is there a specific screen i must ask for, either lg or samsung? One more thing as they had refixed my screen since then I feel it is less brighter like i constantly need it to be on 14 bars but again they didn't replace the screen so can refixing it cause an issue of the brightness?

well you could always raise your concern with Apple before sending it in. LG screens (from what I read) have the issue of ghosting - having said that, you can also try to ask if they could use a Samsung screen but I doubt if they will go ahead and make it happen - whatever is shipped to the repair center that's the one they'll use.

It is possible that your current screen is "dying" that's why you need to crank the display setting up to 14 bars just to get to the brightness level you are comfortable. Again, it would best for you to just go ahead and send that machine in and get it fixed.

how can the display be dying? its brand new right and just refixed,I'm currently using it at full brightness ,how many bars do you normally use? yeah but what if they provide me with the samsung ones having the yellow tint.plus i heard there are two models one is A018 and the other being A020, I currently have the A018.

just got off the phone with apple care and they asked me for a screen replacement to which i told them I don't wish to one now as the computer is new but I would surely like one in the near future. To which they agreed that if i call back after 3-4 months for a screen replacement because of the scratch they will replace the screen, I just have to mention my case id, sounds like a good deal or should I go for it now?

What's the difference in replacing the screen now or in 4 months? From my perspective, do it now as you will be left with more time ahead to test that screen before your 1 year guarantee is over.

you're right, i spoke to the apple service center apparently there are two types of screens one with a yellow tint and one with a blue tint and i think the one i have is with a blue tint but which is the correct one? They said there is no way of them to know about the tint and they get whatever parts apple supplies them with so could it be possible that those 2012/13 faulty retina displays are still rotating around? One thing they said was a yellow tint is not a defect so if I end up with a yellow tint they won't do anything about it.
