That's odd. For me bounced messages are returned to me before I even exit the mail app. Seriously, it's that fast. Maybe it's Softbank's servers here in Japan that are really fast.

But the problem is if the smtp server is not contactable.
You wont get a bounced message at all.
The message just sits in the outbox.

Your swoosh has already happened, so you are none the wiser until your colleague says, where's that email you said you were going to send.

Terrible.

.

I thought my battery life was about the same. But its worse, at this rate my battery will be dead in about 5 1/2 hours of usage. This is 1 - 1 1/2 less then I've been consistently getting.

I'm going to research doing a fresh install some but I have everything set up exactly the way I did in iOS 5.

I've had mail disappear into the iOS mail app void too. If I have bad signal and send a large email sometime on occasion it will just disappear. I'll need to compose it over again. I try not to use my iPhone for sending emails due to this. If I have too ill check and double check it made it to the outbox. But that's for a different thread.

Is that 5 hours of screen-on usage? If so, that's actually quite good. Android users would kill for 3 hours of screen-on time.

Best advice I ever took was to disable the battery percentage in settings.

No more worries.

I'm happy as long as I get a days usage.

No issues here on 3 different iOS devices. I am usually out of the house 11-13 hours on a work day. Longer if I'm traveling. My iPhone has never gone below 24% with wifi and location services always on. Ironically, I use a Mophie Juice Pack Plus that I've only turned on once when the power went out during hurricane Irene.

Last nite, I have 92% and left it on bedside. Just wifi on. no apps. This morning was at 82%. Something is not right. My ipad, does not loose battery life like this ever.
My iphone 4 looses maybe 2-3% overnight.

Did that work? confused to how that would help battery. I have that on all my other older ios devices and no battery issues then. mmmmm

also, anyone notice the home button being too clicky n depressed than ip4s?
mine is deep click and has that weird loud click noise. my ip4s was smooth to the edge and gentle.

The Bad News: On my 5 Im getting the worst battery life of any of my previous iPhones and everyone at work only has 30pin connectors

The Good News: I get to see one more email on screen than all you previous gen suckers.

My iPad gets great battery life. Better than before. iPad 2 on iOS 6, running two exchange accounts, various other activitys like Your Tube, reading, music and so on.

I am averaging 6 hours and 30 to 40 minutes on my 4S. I dont have a screen shot for that, but I happend to look at my iPad's usage and was impressed.

Forgot my screen shot of my iPad.

Just to give an update. I ended up going to Apple and they replaced the phone with a refurbished one. The battery life on the new device is better, although it does get really warm where the battery is (right side). I can live with it.

I have a feeling alot of it depends on the coverage. I'm using a iPhone 5 and if I'm using it at office/home all day with wifi, I get excellent battery life. But once I'm out on LTE, my battery starts depleting real quick.

My iPad 2 had about 50% battery left when I was going to sleep. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth were turned off and the device was muted. I woke up only to see I had 5% left which went also after half an hour.

I really hope an update for this battery issue is on its way.
