Since I've had my iPad, (less than a week ago), I've found out how much of an eye-catcher it is. I've been asked numerous times "HEY, is than an iPad?!?", and I'm like, "Yea!". I've been kinda flaunting it. It's so attractive! I even named her "Pamela". Well, that's besides the point. So I'm out at dinner, and a really good Mexican restaurant that is here in town. My really close friends wanted to see my iPad, so I brought it along. I was showing them a few of the apps, like Toy Story read along (Which is an extremely kid friendly app, I recommend it to anyone with kids) and Betty Crocker Cookbook App. (Also, a really amazing app.) Time to order our drinks! I slip my iPad in my Incase Neoprene Slip Sleve Plus case and put it in my lap. The waiter comes with four drinks, and and takes two off giving them to two of my friends. He was holding the drink tray awkward, and the wait of the two drinks remaining on it made it FLY....into my lap...allover my iPad! Okay seriously, I had never been more scared in my life. My baby, My pamela. Her life could be over. I slip her out of the case, throw her on the table like I'm about to give CPR to a drowning kid. Hit the home button. Apple Magic. She's alive. I seriously can't believe my eyes. The inside of my case was absolutely dry. NOT A DROP OF WATER. I love this case so much more now. The outside is ruined, and I have to get a new one now. But our $140 bill was on the house. I am so pissed though. I will never go back there. And the kid waiter was laughing. LAUGHING! It was like nearly losing a kid. Soooo traumatizing. I don't know where to but this thread, because it's a mix between General Discussion and Accessories. WHAT CASE SHOULD I GET NEXT??

Btw, WTF do you spend $140 at a Mexican restaurant on? Did you buy a new set of dishes for your kitchen:confused:

I lol'd reading this. Well, drinks are expensive there. Like 3 bucks a glass! And refills. Our meals were like 15 bucks. And some desert. Hahahah. It's either dessert or desert. I honestly don't know how to spell it.

Wouldn't that be the best day ever? Yea, agree with above. I'm in San Antonio where nearly 2/3 of the restaurants are Mexican food. How you spend $140?

Desserts has two s's. You'd rather have two desserts than two deserts is the way I remember.

I remember it as dessert has two s's because you always want more.

I dont want to even think of how you would peform CPR on an iPad - thats just sickening :) lol. The iPad is not waterproof so that case was worth its weight in aluminium and glass. You've learnt a very important lesson, even an iPad can get drunk :) lol.

    I remember dessert = ss = strawberry sundae :)

Think about it on the bright side, the retail value of the case probably wasn't worth $140. :D

I don't know what's most WTF about this story; a guy who names his iPad Pamela (creepy), the hyperbolic title (worst day ever? DRAMA), or that anyone would actually let a restaurant comp them a $140 meal over a spilled drink that did $29 worth of "damage". That poor minimum wage waiter is probably going to have to pay a sizable portion of that bill out of his own pocket. You got free food and drinks for you and your friends and you're STILL pissed and never going back? Feeling entitled much?

I would definitely go back. Drinks spill in restaurants every hour of every day. They comp'd your entire bill. The laughing kid was probably embarrassed, or maybe he thought Pamela was a funny name for a giant iPhone. :D

lol. well, it got all in the inside of my moms $1200 Louis Vuitton purse, her iPhone is destroyed, as well as her 90 dollar smart-key to her car.
But this is about my poor Pamela, "creepy" little Pamela.
    :D
You like to criticise people alot don't you?
I'm sure anyone who love their iPad as much as the normal person (That can shell out 600 bucks) would be really pissed.
It was 2 spilled drinks, had you read the original post correctly.
    You go around criticising everyone!
    Entitled much?

You left quite a bit out not mentioning your Mom's loss ... It did make u sound kinda bad when you said ... Your $40 case was toast but your $140 bill was comped ... And that because of that you wouldn't be back.

    Makes more sense now.

Also $140 bill for 4 people is not crazy if you are having drinks as mentioned.

I was at an ultra lux tex mex place at a casino once and my cousin ordered an "Incredible Hulk" for 3 of us. They were $24 each!!!!

    LOL! Could've been worse!

Isn't the case salvageable? With such 'battle scars' there'd be quite a story to tell over time.

You call your iPad Pamela? That's just terrible. I saw a guy sitting in a busy pub tapping around on his iPad and all I could think was 'what a showoff'.

Tell the truth now, this was something you had to make up for your creative writing homework wasn't it?
