I wouldn't trust AT&T to spell their own company name.
Go to your AT&T account and deactivate the add-on device. Or call them.
THEN unpair the watch and it'll get wiped.

Worth returning Apple Watch series 3 for Nike+?

I got the Nike plus version because it’s what was available when I was ready to buy. I don’t personally have any strong feelings for or against the Watch faces. I’m using one for running but only because I figured I may as well.
I bought the Nike+ version because I wanted a perforated band - but then I bought a different color perforated band (dark blue + black) anyway, so I might as well have bought a regular version. I like the Nike faces but probably won't wind up using them.
Ok returned it even though it was past the 14 days. I love the modern look of the Nike faces and really want them now so waiting on a black Nike now. Luckily istocknow can help. 
If you are only getting a sport model then the Nike+ makes more sense, extra watch faces and IMO the Nike+ sport band and sport loops look nicer than the standard ones.
I've been jealous of the Nike+ Edition as soon as it got announced but couldn't justify the upgrade to S2 from my S0. I'm now the happy owner of the S3 Nike+ watch

The reason for the swap was that I liked the Nike watch faces a lot.
The bands, that's something else. I like the gray band best that came with the Apple Sports watch. (in combination with the grey Nike watch face)
What would happen if I send back the original Apple Sports Watch together with the Nike Anthracite watch band?

Call 1800myapple and tell them you want to switch out the nike band, I think they have a process to do that.
That velcro band just looks terrible IMO....anyone actually like it? I went with the Nike sports band with the holes in it.
Sport Loop is actually one of the most comfortable bands in my opinion. Favorite band hands down.
I like the Nike sport band better and the Nike version of GPS+LTE was in the store (while the regular version is backordered to Nov. 9), so that's what I got. I didn't install the Nike app when prompted to during setup, and I have since removed the Nike faces, so it's now just like the regular one but with the band I like better. Win win for me.
I wouldn't do it without saying, that will not end well for you. They do have a watch band swap process but I'm sure it doesn't include the Nike+ bands.
To report back: Tuesday I sent back my Apple Sports watch case together with the Nike perforated watch band for a refund. I kept the Nike watch case and the original grey Sports band. Apple just has send me a credit memo and will refund the money to my bank account, no questions asked.
