Would a new Mac Pro resuscitate this forum?

I remember the last Mac Pro and iMac delay. It was Sept. 2012, Mac Pro hadn't had a true refresh in 2-3 years, almost as bad for iMacs. I needed a new comp or I'd lose work. Since rMBP was the only new Mac, I spent $3k on one, with ghosting and all. I just wanted a desktop.

Here we go again... Mac Pro is probably on its longest refresh cycle ever and iMacs are old and outdated. This time I learned my lesson and built a PC.

So to answer the OP, a new Mac Pro would generate discussion. But things won't get better, it will only get worse. The next refresh will be 4 years, then 5 years, then discontinued.

This is not a NEW pattern. This pattern is at least 5 years old. Life is too short to lie to myself about a computer company; time to accept and move on.

That used to be true.
Today computer workstations and professional cameras are no longer the front line of tech development. Mobile phones have taken that spot. The highend working tools are now more of stable workhorses that slowly adapt new technology.

Maybe Apple is developing a Formula One Car, with two cameras.

I'm sure (or hope) you been following some of the discussions in this subforum about people saying "get it if you need it."
I think it's better we change that mentality of "we should wait this fall" to "I should seek alternatives" or "i'm just gonna pull the trigger because it's going to benefit me...and if I don't get my work done...no money for me."

I can see if we are in a month close to keynote...sure, why not. But if it's gonna disrupt your money flow immediately..you gotta do what you gotta do. If it comes out ..you can sell your current and buy a new one.

If my livelihood depended on it you could bet I would be, if not already have moved to, alternatives.

Yeah, of course. If you're livelihood depends...more logical sense (even if people don't see this obvious) would be...to be with whatever gets you paid. I have no problem if Apple decides to release it soon or few years later. I'm just saying no matter what we use (even for those who earn money from using mac pro regardless of the model), we gotta get that basic needs first.
