I...sort of get you. Yes, it would be bigger than the 12-inch MacBook, and even the 13-inch Air/Pro. But why is that a bad thing? I think that is sort of the point. Sure, it removes the portability and ease of use of the 10-inch iPad, but it will probably be more bearable than you think. It shouldn't weigh more than the original iPad, which was 681g, significantly lighter than the 12-inch MacBook at 916g. I wouldn't be surprised if it weighed as little as 600g.

Not a bad thing - it's interesting to think about. Apple could have some very interesting product overlaps: 12.9" iPad Pro/12" rMB and iPhone 6+/iPad Mini. And Apple has some very odd (in the sense that the rationale isn't really obvious) product rules, such as iOS won't support pointing devices (other than your finger ;) ); MacBooks won't get cell radios. It's all good - choice is good. :D

Yeah, just like you said I was hoping that the iPad Pro would have support for styli, mice and trackpads as well as fingers, and other stuff like pro software, and other things that Macs have, so it can set the standard for iDevices. Likewise, I was hoping that it would also have stuff like cellular support (I assume that is what you meant), and other stuff like Touch ID, and other things that iDevices have, so it can set the standard for Macs.

No, not currently. I could do some of my work on my Air 2, but it would be much more inconvenient. I need a proper keyboard, a larger screen, and the ability to have multiple programs/apps on the display. There's also the issue of connectivity for me. Additionally, my company's software product does not run on an iPad. It needs Windows, OSX, or Linux.

Work aside, for some of my hobbies, like creating electronic music, I also "need" more horsepower. The Air 2 is a fantastic tool for that, but some of the newer, more powerful software synthesizers need more than tablets can currently offer.

For me not. For many people yes.

Why not for me? I do video editing, photo editing and storing both. Those tasks I do not want to do on a tablet. In addition I sit all my day in front of a computer screen for working, mainly mail, excel, PowerPoint. No way I want that screen to be an iPad.
