While it's true that iPhone start at $650 subsidized, most people get them subsidized for $200. Why should the watch cost more than the phone? That's a bit like getting $60 insoles for a $30 pair of shoes; it's a disproportionate price..

Do you really think Apple would package the Watch at $100-200? Even if it was plastic-ish like the 5C - which is a GREAT phone IMHO, why would they offer this technology at such a low price?
I don't see it happening. And personally, I would not want to see it happening.
Consider that iPhones WITHOUT signing a cellular contract are $600+. Why should the Watch, which does not require a contract, be priced like fitness bands. They are so much more.
