Why would I want a phone where I press on the screen and my thumb covers it all?!

Seriously, there is NO IPHONE NANO COMING AT MACWORLD.

No.

Apple is brilliant at designing and quite crafty, but how to you expect easy typing on a screen EVEN SMALLER?! Next thing they will say it only offers a virtual numeric key pad for vintage tap-texting. *sigh*

Awww, c'mon, who wouldn't???!!!! :D :D :D

I voted no but i can't really say for sure, i said to all my friends that i would NEVER buy an iPhone then i did and now i love it!

You can never say never can you?

If the iPhone Nano has everything, but a data plan from AT&T I will buy one day 1 for my dad. He's sick of his "POS Samsung" that's only 18 months old and want a quality Apple product minus the data prices. It's perfect if it's an iPod Touch that can make calls and text... So YES I will buy one.

I wouldn't buy one because I love my 3G and it's perfect for me. But I love the idea of an iPhone nano and hope the rumors are true. I know a lot of people who would buy one.

I would jump all over a nano version, especially if it had cheaper service options. A lot of people are looking for more of a basic phone that
operates/designed well. It could wipe nokia , lg and samsung off the map.

IMHO, the iPhone is about as small as you can make it and have decent functionality for the screen and touch input. Much smaller, and it would loose a lot of that functionality I would think.

Personally, I would much rather see the current iPhone model updated with more memory, better camera, etc.

iPhone Nano

this is what i think will happen...

MacWorld Expo:
- New iMacs/New Mac Mini's

Then Steve Jobs comes AT THE END of the presentation, and ANNOUNCES the features and specs of the iPhone Nano and says it will be announced around end of February/beginning of March

And this is what i think features and specs:

First of all, if an iPhone Nano is released, it will be a teenager's, mom's, and non-business folk's phone.

Ok...

- Smaller (obviously)
- Wifi/Edge/3G.....Wifi is a must, no data plan would be demanded, forcing you to only access internet where you have wifi. But, if you wanted to , you COULD add edge/3G, through AT&T. This way, you wouldn't be paying for internet on the go when a mom or teenager wouldn't need it.
- Camera
- All applications that the iPhone 3G has
- Prices - $99, $149
- Capacities - 8GB, 16GB
This "strategy" would allow teenagers and moms to be able to buy an iPhone. The iPhone right now demands a data plan, which most people don't even need. This is the kinda thing that prevents people from buying an iPhone. They say:

"Oh, I don't need all that" or "That's a lot of money per month, I can't afford that"

This iPhone Nano would add GREATLY to Apple's revenue...

No, Im weird. Something about buying a phone that is cheaper then your monthly bill doesn't seem right.

Anybody else been to the "imaginary world"? Did you guys use the iPhone nano? What'd you think of it? :p
I live in my imaginary world (almost) all the time. :p I didn't see an iPhone nano, but I did see a 6" Apple mini-tablet / iPod touch Pro and a new GUI for Snow Leopard (black glossy). :D

uh, ya homey ... that's an iPhone.

Man, it REALLY seems like all this "nano talk" is just really "cheaper plan please talk"

No. Nearly everyone here has an iphone and is for the most part happy with it.

However we all know a bunch of people who won't buy an iphone due to the expensive data plan that they don't require.

And since Apple has a long history of releasing tag-along products to rake in on the success of their flagship, it's something of a no brainer that there will be some kind of lower end phone offering from Apple in 2009.

I should also add that we are headed into a serious economic crunch, which a lot of people don't seem to understand the gravity of.

Do you really think that people are going to pay for their kids $85 a month iphone plan if they lose their job? Do you think they will even keep their own iphone going under those circumstances?

right ..... so all this "nano talk" is just really "cheaper plan please talk".

I know many people who think the iphone is too big and not slim enough (not talking about thickness)- compare it with another normal phone and its a lot wider.

There is a need for a slimmer phone people can put in their pockets.

I wouldn't buy one though as I love my 3G

For the people complaining about the small screen size of the "might be" iPhone Nano. Can you please wait till it comes out, try it AND THEN start bitching (sorry for the language) about it? As for the current iPhone users, get outta of the poll ;)!

Moms don't need internet on the go? That's news to this mom.

My mom doesn't use internet on her phone. The only thing he uses is the GPS, which would be better to have it on the phone (currently uses an old Garmin)..
I'll buy one for my mom's b'day (if Steve show's up with one at macworld 09').
