Seriously dude, I would love to see your pics taken from this device that are better than your Point and Shoot camera. Which P&S camera do your have?

What? You care what a fanboy thinks?

Why in the hell should I take the time to upload my personal photos of myself, areas around my house, my pets, etc. just to appease some guy on a message board who's already acting like I'm a liar and a fanboy?

Unlike you, I'm not invested in this. I already bought the thing, and I like it. So I seriously don't care. Believe me, don't believe me, I don't give a ****. :p

I think Apple is TOO obsessed with thin, to the point of ruining the ergonomics of the Touch. They could easily have made it a few millimeters thicker and put both a better camera in it AND a larger battery for longer battery life.

Meh. The question should be "Would you care if the Touch was thicker and 50 bucks more expensive" if we got a 5MP camera?

In that case, I care deeply.

I think the people who want a thicker device with a 5mp camera need to remember that the target market for the iPod touch is teenagers, people who are on a budget and will not be happy to pay so much.

Say they do include an incredible camera, they'll raise the price by $50 and these teenagers won't want to buy a 32gb/64gb version and stick with the cheaper 8gb version

Basically price is pretty damn important

No.

If I truly cared about the photos I was taking, iPhone's 5MP still wouldn't satisfy me. I would use my DSLR.

However, I would consider a thicker device if it included other functionalities, like GPS.

Honestly, I would prefer the thickness, especially if it was for a 5MP+LED flash cam.

It's a good thing Apple doesn't give a damn about what consumers think or heaven forbid actually want...

You imply that I have to say something about it to counter your point, "stand up for the device" and other such nonsense. I don't. Unlike most of the people on this forum, I don't care. I like the device, and my pictures come out fine.

Despite that, I'll humor you.

My point and shoot has graininess in the sky (7MP). My parents' point and shoot has graininess in the sky (5MP). My friend's point and shoot has graininess in the sky (6MP). Another friend's point and shoot has graininess in the sky (7MP).

And, finally, my photographer friend's $1800 digital camera DOES NOT have graininess in the sky. And he probably can take pictures of bats at night, as his camera is epic.

So, yeah. If you expect $1800 quality from an extra feature camera that's built into a device that's thinner than the average wallet, that's fine. It's completely delusional, but quite fine none-the-less.

Sure, there would be some small grains on an average camera, and i really don't expect $1800 camera quality, but iPod touch's camera is so low quality that the grains are big and very noticeable. Anyways, it's better than no camera.

for another $25, I'd spring for a thicker touch with a better camera--sure! it's thinner than it needs to be. i think the previous touchs were thinner than they needed to be too. a bigger battery would be great. holding something as thin as the touch is actually more difficult, IMO, than holding my cell which is a Storm2. I can get a better grip on the Storm.

It needs to be thicker. In Boondocks a couple episodes back(if you watch that 'filth'), there was a joke that it's so thin, it could fall out of your pocket, and you wouldn't even realize. If your pockets aren't fairly deep, that's no lie. If you gave me a thicker yet aesthetically appealing device PLUS a 5MP camera, I'd bite myself a little for not buying your product. Not until they give the Touch GPS capability will I think about an upgrade.
