I think it's creepy but I was reading online that a lot of people still do it. So would you? Or is that just too close of a relative for comfort? Maybe a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th cousin?

Seeking validation for a potential match? ;)

I wouldn't date any family member, ever.

There's enough stupidity and strangeness in my family already. Messing with the already questionable gene pool would be a big mistake.

Granting that no one will mistake me for Brad Pitt, my female cousins are...how shall I say this...not yummy!!:(

I'll take a pass on dating my cousin!!

Are we discussing morality or the best way to avoid a weakened DNA pool? :)

Way back when, brother and sisters in royal families wed. So there was no moral issue. However the physical results became the issue and are still the issue today. Otherwise why would it be wrong?

Nooooooooooooooooo.

Not only is that creepy, but intermarrying families tend to have a LOT of birth defects.

Look at the Amish. (I'm not being funny thats 100% serious).

I do know a kid who dated, and slept with his cousin for 2 years, until they found out they were cousins. (They didn't know before).

What does she look like?

And is she hot?

These are the obvious first questions to ask before providing an answer. If she looks like me with long blonde hair, she must be way hot. So, hells yeah.

....no, wait....

I don't think I would do so willingly, and if it happened by accident I'd break it off in the case of first/second cousins. Really though by 3rd or 4th you are so far removed you aren't even "cousins". I for one have NO idea who my 3rd and 4th cousins even are!

If you are of European ancestry, pick any other random European and if you look back from now to 1000 years ago there is a 75 precent chance that you will share a common ancestor.

Just saying'...

Yes, it was some internet factoid I read a couple of years ago.
