I sold my 64GB 4S for $400 on eBay Instant Sale. I haven't even returned it yet.

They asked 3 questions:
Is the unit fully functional?
Yes/No

Trading in Charger?
Yes/No (both answers resulted in the same price)

Please select the condition:
Working - Must power on. No physical damage, all functions must work. Must not have liquid damage.
Not Working

Payable via Paypal with prepaid shipping. Easiest process ever.

If possible I prefer to sell to people I know.

I prefer the opposite for several reasons:

1) I don't feel like I have to back down from asking top dollar
2) I don't have to worry if they have buyers remorse
3) I don't have to provide them technical support
4) Don't have any worries about relationships

You can get almost $200 more on CL for an unlocked 64GB 4S.

Wow that's a very low price for the 64GB. I would buy that myself.

Sold my 16 gig iphone 4 through the amazon trade in by mail last week. Got a $187 gift card out of it. Just checked the prices that they are giving today, it's dropped almost $50 in value after the IP5 launch so I sold it just in time!

Sold my iPhone 4 32 GB for $300 and wife's iPhone 4 16 GB for $240 on eBay. Both Verizon.

Craigslist will get you the most money, IF you can find someone to buy. Drawback is the limited target buyer market.

eBay will likely get you the next highest amount. Drawbacks are hastle of selling online, and paying seller fees.

Amazon will get you a surefire sale immediately with a very good price. Drawback (or maybe not) is that you get the money in the form of an Amazon gift card.

I sold my iPhone 4 through Amazon trade-in and got $270 (no hidden fees!). It was a very simple process.

Craigslist has been good to me, I just make sure I meet in a public place in daylight.

They really aren't going that well on places like eBay, and there are a lot of $450 postings on craigslist, at least in my area. I just figured I would avoid the hassles of dealing with people who might complain about it, and take the $400.

And there are a lot of phones on Craigslist in my area at $450... so I'm not making that much more on Craigslist...

They are going for about $350 on eBay now so that is actually a better price.

Wow you're right they have dropped quite a bit since I last checked. I might go on there and get me one now and upgrade from my 16GB. They're actually cheaper than my local Craigslist right now which usually isn't the case when it comes to eBay.

I sold my iPhone 4 16gb for $318 on eBay. All you need is to be specific about what you are selling, have good pictures in a good quality, and compare prices with other listings. I never do auctions on eBay from 2 reasons:
1. You pay more fees.
2. You usually get less money.

To avoid fraud on eBay, just state in your ad that people with 5 or less feedback reviews should contact you before buying (and if you want to be really safe, restrict your ad to US customers only). Use the "Buy Now" option only, and check the "Require to pay right away" (or something like that).
Above the buy now option in your listing, you would see "See how much other people sold it for" (or something like that) - this way you would know what price to put for your item.

Good luck.
