just wondering if you would like the vibration/mute button removed on the iphone 4?

most of us use case and some case it gets hard to poke your finger to switch it..

as for me i would like it gone:D just go to settings really quick and have a icon on top showing its on mute/vibration mode..might look werid

No, I like it. For people who need to switch back and forth frequently for work/school/sleep/whatever, it's nice to have it handy without fiddling with settings.

nope! i use it all the time. it'd be a pain if it were taken away.

No, and I would like it add to the next iPad as well. I hate to have to hold the volume down for a few seconds to turn on mute, because when you want to turn the volume back on it starts at the lowest setting, so no I like the mute on the iphone4 just like it is.

Why would you want to remove the button? The whole point of the switch is to be able to mute your phone without looking at it, for example while it's in your pocket during a meeting. To remove the button because some people with sausage fingers can't seem top operate it through a case is silly.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A400 Safari/6531.22.7)

No, I like it!

what about like a triple tap on the home button when its on the lock screen?

No. I use the switch more than just when its locked. If I go to play a game or something I don't always want to hear the sound. What am I going to do, lock the phone just to put it on vibrate? Crap idea sorry.

How about this idea...what if the phone had a switch or something so that the phone could easily be muted?

No sir. I use it often. I would hate to have to go into the Settings app every time I wanted to silence my phone.

I use it constantly. One of my biggest gripes with the blackberrys we use at work is how inconvenient it is to change between sound "profiles" when you want to make your phone silent.

Apple got it right with the mute switch.

I wish it was more like the one on my old 3G, that one was easier to switch on and off, with the one on the Iphone 4 I have to grip the hell out of it to flip it.

I love it... But I find the 3G had a much easier switch than the 4.

I actually have to put some effort into the switch with the 4 than the 3G I could easily flick it when it's inside my pocket, not the case with the 4 :(

there is a reason most phones have a quick off/ quick mute button

many times you need to be able to mute your phone quickly

best example is if your phone goes off during a meeting

can you imaging having to type in your passlock + swiping, going into options and then pressing mute in a meeting / dark theater

My iPhone 4 aside, I've not had a phone with a mute switch/button. I'm now a fan.

I remember in uni, when the lecturer would ask people to turn off/silence their phones, you would hear a cacophony of Nokia phones beeping as their owners press their volume down button repeatedly to silence the phone.

Nope. Walk into class, flick. Walk out, flick.

They should remove the volume buttons. Just kidding!
