Be patient. There are more important things in life than a maps application on your cell phone.
Indeed. Like screwing over your customers by replacing a mature, functional app from a competitor with a dangerous, broken app just to make a bit more dough.

Apple Maps shows that the small muncipality I live has a liquor store, didn't know that even though I have lived here almost my whole life. These Apple-devices are awesome.

You are right, Google Maps look really Android. Google Maps also performs like Android.

That's why I prefer Apple Maps.

As much as I bashed Apple Maps, the presentation makes it more useful. I actually can't use Google Maps app. I'll use it for accuracy but that's it.

The design of it is bad, why do they have a giant tab for Google Earth? I keep accidentally clicking it.

But you've been paying profiteers ever since you bought your first gadget ...what makes Apple so different?

the public transport feature is insulting

and the new google app doesnt have cycle routes

nor does the apple maps

this would be very useful if it did

if you happen to be in london, use citymapper, its better than all of them

For the average day user like me apple maps is great. Just type in the adress and it never failed me once (living in holland). I dislike the look of google maps and I can find a restaurant on my own if I need one.

I agree. Apple maps have never failed me and I use maps monthly. I live in Finland. Google maps look and feel too Android for me. Google maps also lag, Apple maps don't.

Google maps might run a bit laggy but trust me it lags a whole less than on the very NEXUS 4 which I lol'd about (friend of mine is super android fanboy)

Google maps minor lag is justified by their amazing accuracy and POI's Apple maps is unusable that doesn't make you less of an Apple supporter you don't have to be a sheep !!

Google maps are miles ahead plus I can see traffic in mexico

Apple Maps got me a little lost just this week!

I was heading to class, an iOS Development class, and traffic was way backed up at the exit I needed to use... So I went past it and took the next exit.
I couldn't recall what road I needed to take from there, so I just pulled out my iPhone.

I typed in the address, which was something like "10 N Street" - Apple maps pulled up some location near New Orleans (I'm in St. Louis). I figured I would spell it out - "10 North Street". It then found some location out in New York or something. I then tried putting in the weird-sounding name of the street it was on the intersection of. Apple Maps pulled up a location of some Motorcycle place on the Arkansas border.

I finally just opened Google Maps, typed in the same thing, "10 N Street", and it found the EXACT location I needed to be.

None of the places Apple Maps pulled up where anywhere near me, or spelled anything like what I was searching for. It was like it was randomly giving wrong addresses.

Apple maps thinks I live in Missouri. I can even type my home address in full and somehow I end up in Missouri or any other state than the one I live in. Google maps to the rescue!

I don't know what's with all the hate on Apple Maps. I've used them several times, and it has lead with without error each and every time.

Yeah. This is the deal.

Apple Maps is so easy to use BUT it's simply not up to scratch... yet. I have used it for turn by turn directions and it was flawless, but while travelling in another place it simply didn't know where I wanted to go and Google Maps did. Google maps is far more powerful at this point but it's UI is less friendly than Apple Maps. I think once Apple get up to speed then it will be a really great app. Until then we need to use with caution.

I really don't see what is good about it's UI. POI icons being everywhere is terrible, because it means you can barely see anything built up areas. Or at least it would be, if they had any POI data. You still get that bloody pop-up all the time to turn wifi on when it's off, without a toggle to do it there and then. The colours are horrible. Traffic is unclear. Search has no meaningful corrections or suggestions. "Parking" icons don't actually distinguish between private car parks like company ones and ones that I could actually go and park in. It's just a mess.

(Not that there aren't plenty of areas for UI improvement in Google Maps too, but that's a LOT easier to fix than fundamentally not having the data in place).

Apple Maps is by far the best I've ever used and ill never use any other navigation again. Can't wait until we have a Maps app for Mac, that auto syncs directions to your iPhone.

It's clearly getting better. Found 4 locations easily by place name for me. Turn by turn is the best. Large easily readable street names compared to google.
