Then why is Apple still going to sell the iPhone 6/6+ for the next 12 months?

If it was such a flaw in design would they not make the 6/6+ out of series 7000 also?

LOL. Just admit you have an illogical bitter hate against the 6

Why does McDonald's selling millions of shittty hamburgers every year?? Brand appeal is my best guess. Nothing to do with quality though.

That argument went nowhere in the last thread and not going anywhere here.

And yes I hate a phone. Lol. I think Apple should keep up with their slipping quality. Hopefully that is the case with the 6S.

Changing your argument now?

First you said the new 7000 aluminum in the 6s is proof that the 6 was too weak.
Yet they are still going to sell the 6/6+ for probably another 2 years.
So that throws your argument right out of the window.

if the strength in the 6/6+ was such an issue they would have used 7000 in the 6/6+ this year.

Also don't forget genuises (genii?!) were known to replace bent iPhone 6 / 6 plus without any replacement cost which in itself speaks volumes about a so called none issue.

They also replace defective batteries, CPU's, and Wifi radios without cost. Does not mean those are common problems? hell no.

Any manufactered good will have defects. It depends how common they are. And in the case of bent phones it is very uncommon. If it was common they would have given the 6/6s series 7000 aluminum this year.

No I just didn't read what you wrote. I figured you were trying to use sales figures to justify Apples shortcomings again.

They didn't stop selling the 4 after they fixed the antenna in the 4s. So this is pretty on par for them. 100 bucks cheaper for a weak phone at least now. lol.

Because phones shouldn't go in pockets right? If you can't put a phone in a pocket it is weak.

Face it White knights. The iPhone 6 was a weak phone in many ways. Apple noticed this and fixed it. How you can even try to argue this boggles my mind. Especially at this point with a new phone released that SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSES THE BENDING ISSUE!

Some have tight pants (Front), and the person sits repeatedly, which may causes some to bend. Back pocket and it will eventually bend with soft metal. Or one could lean against a sink, table as such hard enough to bend a little as well. So why not avoid this, and get a case and a belt loop holder ? If not, you have no sympathy from me

Yes but none of those replacement faults you listed are down to user error and are covered under warranty.

There is a difference between replacing something that has a fault due to user error or a fault with the hardware of the phone.

The same argument could be made against what you said, if there wasn't such an issue with bending why have they strengthened the 6s series? And don't say because of 3D Touch.

Because manufacturing costs have likely come down due to use in the Apple Watch, stronger is better/another advertising point. Stuff evolves. Doesn't mean the previous stuff was bad or "defective."

Then surely manufacturing costs of the aluminium used in the 6 have come down even further due to being older?

Why did apple even have to advertise the fact that the phone is stronger? People don't buy a phone because of its 'strength' imo unless it's because of something that has been an issue in a previous version.

It just seems so blatant to me that they used a stronger shell to reduce bending issues.

FYI I'm not saying it was defective. All I'm saying is that it was an issue.

Show me proof that the bend issue on the iPhone6 is a real issue.

Not something that happens to 1 phone out of 100,000 and could easily be attributed to misuse.

If this was a real issue we would hear more outcry about it for MONTHS. If this was a real issue there would be MILLIONS of iPhone's bending and tens of thousands of complaints on the internet.

Nice try though. Must be hard to see that the iPhone6 is the best selling phone of all time.

I just don't think people are really looking for the issue.

That's a strong assumption, too. We'll see when the bend tests come out, but an iPhone 6s Plus WILL still bend. Physics are still in place here. I wouldn't be surprised to see some stronger parts inside the phone, though. The additional thickness of the phone (likely due to the 3D Touch/screen assembly differences) give you more room to work with inside. If the parts that were in the 6/6 Plus are in the 6s/6s Plus but bigger, that would account for more strength and resilience to bending.

I thought they did in fact indicate they reinforced the phones at the exact spot where bending has been occurring.

my 6 is bent too. I just suck it up even though it also has the off center front camera and i have applecare. If i could keep my jailbreak i would take it in for service but it isnt that big of a deal. In another year i'll be getting the iPhone 7 anyway

Maybe, but not definitively. :)

It's perhaps easier to switch manufacturing methods completely for these small, portable devices? Who knows? That Apple continues to see the original 6/6 Plus without changes (that we know of) is fairly open/shut that Apple doesn't see it as a major issue.

I had seen a few pictures where that's true. But that doesn't have anything to do with switching to 7000 series aluminum. If they strengthened at that one obvious weak point, everything else is just a bonus, no?

Truck manufacters constant advertise their trucks frame is stronger. Its not because the previous trucks had issues.

Even Amazon advertised their new kindle fire is 2x stronger than iPad.

You guys are jumping to conclusions based on a few isolated cases.

Bingo. If it was such a huge issue no way Apple would not make changes to the 6/6+

I just had my 6 replaced a few days ago and got one with 8.4. You should be fine if losing your jailbreak is what's holding you back.

Amazing how many iPhones are bending just before the new iPhones are released, and just before the warranty runs out.
Apple must have miscalculated the material, surely it was meant to bend AFTER the warranty runs out ;)

Really? i might take it in then but the bad thing is there no 100% sure way to know that it will have 8.4 so i'll tough it out until the next jailbreak comes out that way i dont have to worry about the version.

You can refuse the replacement. Say you don't want to lose your jailbreak. Or you don't like the color temperature of the screen. Whatever excuse you use, they can't make you sign for the new one.

You can't lose.
