I actually love this 7 plus. I have the flat black because I'm impatient. I couldn't be happier.

1) I love the optical zoom. I have a new niece and I don't have to shove my phone in her face to get a closeup. It even gets a very minor blurring of the background because of the telephoto lenses have more depth of field. Awesome pictures of her.

2) It's a brand new phone so I know it won't last, but so far the battery is amazing.

3) It's fast. Like fast fast. I use a lot of workflows and it handles the complicated ones noticeably faster than my 6s plus did.

4) Maybe I'm rare, but I love the home button. I hated how the physical button felt if you didn't click it in the center of the button. Now it's just easy to click even if you miss the button center a little. It always feels the same. I only don't like how screenshots feel because one button is virtual and one is real.

5) The top speaker is a game changer for me. It's just a louder phone so that's great. The best part though is I can watch a video and when my hand covers the side speaker by accident, I can still hear things.

What he said. The most noticeable change for me coming from a 6s is speed.

It's just that Apple has slacked off on quality control. iPhone 7 isn't a bad phone but it does suffer from several issues with software and hardware.

Of course many new owners will deny this, but the honesty of those who are reporting their true first hand experience is priceless. They're saving people like me tons of money, saving us from wasting time and avoiding the frustration you're reading about in thread after thread.

This is the true value of this forum, I appreciate the opportunity to avoid buying into Apple's problems.

Unless you're an Apple employee with access to the complaint/repair data, you really are just bloviating. So do you have the data? Share it please.

Personally, I love it! After 48 hours of use, the phone is noticeably faster than my 6s Plus. Camera is definitely better, both front and rear facing. The new home button is amazing and something I wish the iPhone always had. Headphone jack wise, I love it's gone too as I haven't used the jack since the iPhone 5 (went Bluetooth years ago). Overall the phone is GREAT!

I am a big fan of people who come to a forum to discuss problems with a phone that they do not own. I am more of a fan of those who come to a thread started to discuss things people like about their phones with this typical annual complaining.
I'm part of a large family of long time Apple customers. Both my brothers and three of my sisters pre-ordered and received their iPhone 7 Plus models launch day. We all got together last night to talk about their new phones.

Since this is the first year I didn't feel the new phone was worth it, I was particularly interested in seeing if the reports of problems here were true. As I mentioned I don't think it's a bad phone, it just has more bugs and annoyances than any iPhone I've ever had and I've bought every new iPhone each year since the original.

The noise that's heard when doing processor intense work is very real and being reported on by credible sources like other Apple sites.

The other issues are more personal preferences.
So your "several issues" is one "issue" that appears to be fairly documented right now by sites many of us respect and the rest are "issues" your family reports that no one knows about? OK. Glad you cleared all of that up.

Bottom line is each year people complain quite publicly while those who are fine with their new device as more silent. This happens with every single release and happens with other phones. Apple users don't have the corner market on this at all. That said, I personally found it more exciting to upgrade every 2 years rather than chase the phone annually. I find my experience is greater when I go from a 6 to a 7 versus a 6 to a 6S. Not to say there isn't something enjoyable, but I like it better the way I do things. As for problems, the only one that has caught my eye is the noise heard, but when I read someone's post I immediately thought that it makes sense to hear something working in the phone. I am not an engineer nor am I someone who can really speak to the "issue", but somehow I just thought it would make sense. I will see Tuesday whether or not the noise is really something that I can hear or that I am bothered by.

I like it a lot. I liked my 6+ a lot, but it was beginning to die a slow death. The 7 is just a better version.

I think people that are disappointed were expecting something revolutionary. The 7 isn't, but it's still a very good phone.

Same, I have had the 3S, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 6 and 6S. Didn't think I'd get the 7 because I really wanted the dual lens but I have never been a fan of the plus size.

Honestly if you get every new iPhone every year you must be getting the S version alongside the non-S version. Is there that much difference between the two? Most folks don't use 3D Touch but if you do, then I guess that was a noticeable difference between 6&6S.

I love my new iPhone 7+. I don't even mind the larger size (I'll figure out how to deal with the size versus my pockets issue later) and the fact that I'm without my smart battery case...

I guess I'm an apple fanboy

You found it worth it, then? I've been trying to figure out why I'm tempted to upgrade even though I only got my 6S a few months ago, and I've figure out that it's because I'm tempted by the better camera and the larger size of the 7 plus. I'm going to give it a good month or so due to stock availability and also because I have a trip coming up and then see whether or not I still want to upgrade, because I'd been thinking that I'd upgrade next fall instead.

Yep. Without a doubt. Extremely happy I upgraded. I wanted a plus last year but chickened out. This year went for it and so happy that I did. It's also nice knowing that I don't need to grab a plastic bag when I go do something water activity related. That was the biggest selling point for me. Camera second.

I am an Apple 6S Plus owner. Waiting on my Jet Black 7 Plus in about a week or so.

Looking through all these threads on this forum you would think this new Apple phone is a total bust.

Let's hear some positive stories from phone owners that actually love their new phone. Please, help get our hopes up....
I guess you haven't been 'round these parts for long. This is the same old song every year. The vast majority of people have no complaints and are quite happy. There is a always a small minority who will complain and make lots of noise, but it doesn't mean anything. Just get one and form your own opinion.

I seriously like mine.

I came from a 6+ to a 7+

My old phone was worn out, silent switch was funky, and I had a lot of lag on ios10.

That being said...it's not that much faster than my wife's 6S+

And the camera isn't that much better...

I do like the dual speaker when watching shows and things...

But I hate how when I'm talking on the phone how I can feel the speaker in the back panel vibrating?

It's not a bust, but I'm glad I could pay $100 less for the same storage.

So you've already got the pulse of internet summarized with the bolded from the 10-20 people who are posting in these threads? Thankfully you're skipping this model as it only makes it easier for me to get one.

2 days of mine... and I've got a pretty nasty hairline scratch on the screen, nasty in length!! It's about 3.5cm. Sigh. Never had this on the 6 and 6s

So I invested in a £20 fancy screen protector today, for the guy in the store to apply it for me... I get home and it's for a bit of fluff under the protector!! Nightmare!!

Does anyone recommend removing the top part, getting that fluff off and reapplying? It's only about 4cm down from the top, so the whole thing won't come off!

I would buy a couple of glass ones off the internet and fit it yourself. The glass ones are very easy to fit.

I love my matte black 7+! I upgraded from a regular 6 so this really feels like a brand new phone for me. It's faster, the sound quality for calls has drastically improved, the new home button is a great novelty for me so far, and the size of the screen paired with the beautiful color and clarity are great. I'm super happy with my new phone!

I don't have the plus but have the iPhone 7.

I've come from an iPhone 6 and absolutely love my new phone. I got the Matt black and it's lush.

Love the home button and 3D Touch. The fact I work out side so the water resistant sis a bonus. And the speed my god this think just flies.

All in all I'm a very happy iPhone 7 owner

What's your basis? This is completely anecdotal. When you sell phones at twice the volume then the same defect rates lead to twice the complaints.

Love mine. Except for the washed out screen, but hope to have that fixed soon. I think it's a solid upgrade from the 6s Plus.

for me hissing noise bluetooth problem creaking noise when grab phone are making me going back to my 6s plus

This is what the forums look like after every iPhone launch. The people that enjoy life, and their iPhones, are not spending time on here telling everyone about it.

Now I take back everything I said about the camera. My indoor shots are quite good now and outside it's amazing.

So now I love everything about my 7 plus.

I'm sure I would love the 7S based on what I've read. The IP7 too will be a massive leap from my 5C.

Completely agree with all of these!! This phone is excellent!

(except I am not taking photos of her niece for clarification )
